Hi guys, just a quick a question, could any clarify this extract from the SW codex for me please:

For every five models in the squad one wolf guard model in terminator armour may choose one of the the following -

replace storm bolter with heavy flamer for 5 points
replace storm bolter with an assualt cannon for 30 points
take a cyclone missile launcher

Now as I read this, I assume that if I have 10 units in a WG squad (5 in TDA and 5 in PA) I may replace the storm bolter with either a heavy flamer or assault cannon AND also take a Cyclone missile launcher.
I ask this as I have modelled one of my termies with magnets for his cyclone and also magnetised this arms thus allowing my to equip both a launcher and assault cannon.

Is this correct, it doesn't say that the two weapons have to be on different units. Thanks guys!

Read carefully.

This is what confuses me, as I read it, I understand it to mean that for every 5 models I may choose 1 heavy weapon. So another 5 models will grant me another heavy weapon. It doesn't say that those 2 heavy weapons can't be used in conjunction. If anyone knows the answer to this for 100% certain then I'll accept it but as I read it there is certainly a point for either argument.

I think it means 1 per model. so out of 10 models 2 can have heavy weapons.

In fact im gonna say i know it means so.

Does it not say in the rulebook somewhere that certain sticking points may be contested as a matter of perspective?

Dunno. Im pretty casual with my games so personally if you wanted to have 2 heavy weapons on a model instead of 2 thats fine. But remember it cant fire both even if you could do it.

That is true. If I'm honest I see no real tactical advantage to taking both, I just think it would look absolutely badass. No other reason

If you wanna be safe magnitize another models arm to take a cannon. Then if someone whines (you will hardly find any) just change it so you 2 guys with heavies instead of one. Then everybodies happy.

You may think I'm crazy but aside from 3 pairs of wolf claws I magnetised the whole goddamn box. All 5 torsos, every weapon and even my cyclone.

Id do it too if i had the time and patience. Makes some things a lot easier.

For minis with no options superglue is fine, but when your model can pretty much have anything you want I think there's some value in preserving that flexibility. Didn't take me that long really. I'd say about a day.

Agreed. Especially as an imperium player. But as to it only taking a day, try doing to an imperial guard army and all of a sudden it turns into weeks and months

You could take them on the same model, but there is no point really - you can only fire one weapon per model, unless you have a rule allowing otherwise. A cyclone allows you to also fire a stormbolter, not an assault cannon.

Yeah, what he said. For every 5 models, you can take one of the options. There is nothing preventing that from being the same model each time, although obviously you can only swap out your storm bolter the once.

But there is no point taking the cyclone with anothing heavy weapon.
