Today I had an accident, while painting I accidentally added a overcoat of blue on a not fully dry undercoat. They mixed but I was wandering how to check for wet paint because i checked and none came off but when paint was applied it mixed. It would also help if someone could tell me how to start again as this figure is irreplaceable. I mean in painting terms. Like if you could wash off all the paint with some sort of mixture! Please help, I'm desperate!

(model is plastic)

If you need to start over, you can strip it fairly easily.

In the UK i believe you have access to detrol. check the forum for stripping tips and you will have some resources.

Otherwise Let it dry 100% and try again in the isolated area. it should coat over it with not too much trouble.

Sorry to hear that. But yes if its not on too thickly, you could wait a day or so and respray it
Alternatively, if you do need to remove the paint, I have literally just 20 minutes ago removed the paint from a few more of my old gaunts. Using the Fair Power Spray method So you definitely have options, so don't worry!

I agree, if the priming was not too thick, wait for it to dry and try another primer coat, if details obscured try the below products:

"Super clean" works the best (purple container, called a "degreaser")
"Simply Green"
Also "Awesome" works well.
I did not hear what material the model was made of so all of the above is safe on plastic or pewter.

I dont think the second prime coat is wise.

As long as the mixed area isnt lumpy, then just painting over it with a close match to the base coat should be good enough.

Double priming risks detail loss which is never fun.

Fairy power spray is a good option for stripping paint as Glaiceana mnetioned. Few bursts onto the model, agitate with a brush, leave for 15-30 minutes and rinse/scrub (gently!) using an old stiff brush (toothbrush is great for this) to remove the paint.
Done this on a few of my models - no damage to model itself (finecast or plastics) and aside from the odd nook or crevice where you have to go at it with a toothpick or scalpel to remove it, paint comes off cleanly.

I wouldn't use Dettol myself - I've tried it & it stinks (literally!)
Use Fairy Power Spray instead.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Look in the tutorial section. The thread started by spudkins should be not too far down the list. There's a longer conversation on paint stripping methods.

What paint did you use for undercoating? For your first question (how to tell if paint is dry). Most acrylic sprays which "feel" dry in a few minutes, it's actually best to wait 12 to 24 hours if it's an important model, as the paint continues to cure and release gas long after the model feels "dry".

I will say that LA's totally awesome is a great stripper when used with a ultrasonic cleaner it will remove everything including primer and it is cheap to boot. Although I would love to find some dawn power dissolve (Fairy power spray I think it is called in the UK) to try that as I hear that is even better.

I find simply green to be simply useless imo, I soaked a old marine I wanted to repaint for three days and even with scrubbing with a firm brush the paint did not budge... The rumor (Or fact, idk) is that simply green used to be awesome until they had to remove a ingredient that was caustic or something like that that made it a awesome stripper.
