Hey Dakka. Has anyone ever thought of painting Orcs and Goblins with human skintones? More like traditional, fairy tale goblins?

Certainly can be done, but to some people they won't look orcy/gobliny. That said, it's probably more acceptable these days, now that Peter Jackson's films have orcs and goblins with (mostly) humanish skin tones - no one complains about that.

I've seen so many Warhammer Orcs painted green, human skin toned Orcs look odd to me. I've seen so many LOTR Orcs painted in a range of muted greens, browns and sickly flesh tones that a vibrant green LOTR Orc looks odd to me.

That said, if you like the look of them with regular human skin tones, paint it how you like! Most important thing is that you're happy with how they look.

I have seen pale skinned human toned Orcs, and they look pretty cool.

At the end of the day though, they are your little plastic dudes and you may do with them whatever you want!

FWIW, I'm painting my Deadzone Marauders (Orks) with dark red skin.

I saw an Orc and Gobin army painted in normal human skintones and it looked great. Just be ready for a barrage of questions when you deploy them.
