I'm considering getting Fall of Orpheus mostly just for this character. He sounds like an awesome HQ:
Warlord trait of +1 to reserve rolls
Phase shifter
Reroll a d6 every turn
D3 vehicles a game get IWND !
Transdimensional Beamer (slow and purposeful so can actually fire it too...)
Sounds like incredibly good value for the points... Has anyone played him?

He seems pretty good but kinda gimmicky. My only use for him would be to make an even crazier disco inferno list with him and a chronotek for 2 rerolls PER PHASE.
That would be crazy for making some key saves and RPs.

The it will not die one vehicles seems great. Reserve bonus warlord stuff seems great. Phase shifter makes him quite survivable. I'd say a fantastic alternative to any list bringing a vanilla overlord. He's so cheap!

Doesn't he also have nightfighting? Could be useful, perhaps put him in an artillery unit...

I'm not a big fan, personally.
I don't think his benefits outweigh either a Royal court or a Destroyer lord.
IWND is not a big deal for Necron vehicles. They very rarely die from HP removal, it's that single pen that either blows it up, or strips the weapon off/immobilizes it that handles our vehicles.
The reroll of a D6 is only for him and his Unit, it's not army wide like Fateweavers. This really limits it's use.
Overall, he is a cheap HQ, However if you are running a Maynarkh list you are better off with either a Generic Overlord/Destroyer Lord or Kutlakh.

The +1/-1 to reserves could be useful to. That said I'm finding it hard to wrap my head around dark harvest lists. I can use the tomb stalker (which I happen to like) in a regualsr nec list, I can take a pylon or sentry i a reg nec list ( of course i would rather have ani barges but guass pylon in escalation maybe). So what is the benefit of dark harvest. I don't need scoring flayed ones or scarabs with rending ant the expense of entropic strike. I can even take acanthrites if I want to (good but a bit over-costed, IMHO)

Generally the benefits of a Dark Harvest list, are the Warlord table, Kutlakh, Flensing Scarabs, the various Maynarkh upgrades, and Flayed ones as troops. This comes at the expense of no C'tan Shards, minimum 10 for Warriors and Flayed ones, Immortals not being compulsory troops, and lack of access to Necron Special characters. If you prefer the benefits you get with the regular Necron codex, then there is likely no reason for you to take a Dark Harvest list, except as allies to nab that extra abarge.
a bit of a sidenote, but Canoptek Ancanthrites are incredibly good for their cost. In this volume of fire meta, being T5 3W and 3+ with stealth is huge. I'm starting to find them more effective than Wraiths in a lot of situations.

Canoptek Ancanthrites are undoubtedly good. But they are expensive. Ive been toying with adding a unit of five.

No need to take dark harvest for the list.

That is interesting. I had always kind of discounted Acanthrites as being more expensive than wraiths and, despite their toughness five probably mostly less surviveable (no invuln save). For a melta pistol?
They are cool models though. And might add a bit more diversity to my army (quite spammy at the mo...
So you can only take Toholk in a Dark Harvest list? I'm still waiting for my copy of Orpheus to arrive...

Acannthrites also have void blades are LD10 and have stealth ... so really not too bad. I am testing them for sure. They are also jump infantry so pretty fast.
You get to re-roll a die on your own unit only though. Not like Fatey.
