Lets be fair here, the only guy that stood a chance against the Avatar was Abaddon. Typhus was T 5 with a 5+ invul, Biker guy with a 4+, all it would take would be for ONE smash attack to get through and it would be over. At full wounds i think Abbadon would usually win, except point for point to be fair the Avatar would get some upgrades to even the playing field. This would get the Avatar disarming strike (66% of the time you will be FORCED to use your Daemon Weapon) as well as + 1 Str for wounding on 2's. The Avatar also forgot to use his melta shot if it made any difference.
That combat assuming no shooting would turn out something like this, assuming Abaddon got to use his claw every other turn and no charge bonus.
5 Attacks hitting on 3's, 3 hits, 2.5 will wound and 1.25 will get through invul. Kills Abaddon in 3 turns.
Abaddon hits with Daemon Weapon getting 4 extra attacks, so 4 hits and 1.3 ish wounds (wounding on 5's). 0.8ish wounds go through. Kills Avatar in 7 turns.
Abaddon with Claw. 4 attacks, 2 hits, 2 wounds, 1.4 wounds a turn. Kills Avatar in 4 turns.
Avatar should have it either way, but what makes it less close is the ability to force Abaddon to wond on 5's rather then 2's re-rolling.
Suggestion for another Extreme Deathmatch? Ghaz vs Skarbrad vs Swarmlord vs Souped up Avatar. Battle of the giants!
