Im still new to the game, and I would like some help clarifying Strategos Level 3 please.

'Strategos Level 3: If the Strategos figure is the Lieutenant, he not only can use the preceding levels of this Special Skill, but can also prevent his adversary, during the Deployment phase, deploying a miniature after him.'

Does this mean I cannot deploy from any level of AD? As I guess they count as reserves. Or can I just not have any normal reserves?

Also, if the Strategos Level 3 guy wins the roll to deploy first, than hilariously it reads as though I cannot deploy and miniatures once he is deployed, so i would lose? Im certain this is not the case but thats how I read it haha.

EDIT: Ive answered my own question I believe. It just prevents my one reserve mini during deployment. Or downgrades my reserves from two minis to one, if I have Strategos level 2. If im wrong please let me know.

OK. It's referring to initial deployment during setup and the ONE model that may normally be held back.

With Strategos L3, the owner of the Lt with this skill, may hold back TWO models, and his opponent may not hold back ANY.

AD models DO NOT COUNT for initial deployment normally. They are an in-game deployment option and unaffected by this skill.

So if I had:

3 line infantry,
2 AD troops
2 TO camo troops

And my opponent was the one with the Strategos skill, I would have to deploy ALL of the TO camo AND line infantry during my deployment. AD troops can usually be held back for in-game deployment unless you want to deploy them normally (which is wasting points that you pay for that ability). If you chose to deploy them normally (or were able to in the case of certain units that MUST deploy by specific means), then they would also be deployed during your setup.

If the strategos owner deploys first, it just means he gets to deploy X models AFTER you have finished your initial deployment (where you would normally get to deploy one AFTER his, which he can then possibly counter with HIS reserve).
