I am planning on kit-bashing some sniper drones (don't like finecast) using the regular drones and pathfinder rail-rifles.
However I'm at a little bit of a loss for the controller. What would you suggest?

Is there some model that would be good or anything. I'm not a good modeller in the sense of scratch built. I can convert to an extent provided it's easyish.

I was actually thibking about doing this too because they cost an arm and a leg for the fine cast :p

I think you can just take a firewarrior and just build a frame thing out of old sprues glued together and some plasticard. Then just take some green stuff and shape it a bit and add some tau marking and should be good.
It won't look as good as the fine cast one but wouldn't be bad

Since posting this i had a thought. Use a kneeling pathfinder with the binoculars and a small structure built using something like the front of a broadside or arm shield

Like the bit on the left maybe (if the image works) then put that on a stick or something and put a touch screen looking thing inside it.

If i do it I'll post.

Ya that could work for sure!

Here is a good guide to scratch building the drones that I didn't add to the last one

It is easy to not use a few of the parts actually mainly the arms because you probably don't have extra arms laying around unless you want to order bits online
