I apologize in advance if this is a goofy question, but I'm looking to add a super heavy to my grey knights army. Is it legal to field a storm lord with my gk force? I assumed it was legal for an inquisition force to field one but a friend of mine said it was ig only. I don't have my books with me and won't have them for awhile. Can someone please shed some light on this?

The only "legal" superheavy for Grey Knights us the Thunderhawk Gunship, which is also the best superheavy in the game.

I thought all imperial forces had access to the titans and the imperial navy units. That's depressing if true as I built one thunderhawk and refuse to buy anything like that from forgeworld again, a total waste of $650!

Personally, I see no reason why any of the Imperial forces couldn't use any of the Imperial superheavies. However, I was recently slapped down for fielding a Reaver in a 1500pt game, because my 50pts in Inquisitor+henchmen couldn't take a Reaver.

Or maybe they just didn't want to play against a Reaver.

Codex inquisition does not.
You could codex Grey knighted a reaver though. though you would need to spend 124 minimum.

But can anyone confirm or deny in one of the books about the heavy tanks?

LOL That's a bit much but I would've played against that. But I would have hoped you would let me adjust my list so I could run 1500 points of fast moving melta weapons!

It would hinge on whether the Inquisitor can just snag the Stormlord out of IA-Apocalypse as an allied IG unit without any further requirements.

The GK obviously don't get it by themselves.

Because the Imperium does not often work well with itself.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

At my FLGS as long as it's Imperial you can take it in any CSM/SM/IG/SoB/BA/SW army x) But that's us

Legally speaking the Grey Knights get:
Thunderhawk Gunship
Thunderhawk Transporter
Grey Knights Thunderhawk Gunship
Warhound Titan
Reaver Titan
Fellblade
Typhon Heavy Siege Tank
Cerberus Tank Destroyer
Marauder Bomber
Marauder Destroyer

Though of course you are free to houserule in more choices.

Currently not in posession of any armies - I merely theorycraft and discuss background,
Waiting for HH Book 6 so I can start an Imperial Army army.

Thanks for the list. I'm debating on the risk of buying one and having it rejected. I guess I'll just end up buying some IG troops to make it legal then.

Stormlord us a beast! Put Coteaz and 2 units of 3 Plasma Servitors, 3 Plasma Acolytes, 3 Jokers, one with a Mystic and one with a Banisher, and 2 units of Crusader/DCA/Priests inside the Stormlord surround by 3 triple-shielded VSGs. Just annihilate anything that even thinks about getting close.

Yes. I agree its rules are rediculous.

The ability to double fire the Mega Bolter should strip 4-5 hull points off any Flyer.
