Firewarriors are underwhelming without the right support. ADL and Ethereal. If you do want to go firewarriors. 9 is a better number than 8.

Pathfinders always die on me. I prefer Mark O's and drone squads. Skyray's are good too.

Bodyguards usually aren't worth the points.

Heavy Rail Rifles are mediocre in my opinion. But Misslesides have been devastating for me.

Your bodyguards are all messed up. Pick one thing for them to do. Actually no. It's a tear down. Don't take bodyguards at all. They are a point waste. They cost an extra ten points for +1 ld that's useless because they test on the commanders ld. They get access to sig systems but that's wrong to. Put the sig systems on the commander. C&c, msss, and iridium, NO GUNS. Drone controller is good if you want marker drones, but only do that on the commander for bs 5 not on other suits, it's not worth it for +1 bs. The commander runs alone to buff other units as needed. With iridium he is great for taking hits for broadsides or crisis teams in crisis (Heh). Or really anything taking hits it can't handle. So lone commander, maybe drones, no bodyguards.

Instead of bodyguards it's riptime. Riptide with early warning and Stims. At this point level I would go with the ion accelerator. However if you predict any aircraft go HBC with velocity tracker instead of early. It's important when you fire the nova charged HBC to have the commander attached to reroll 1's or he may kill himself. It's also handy when using the template profile for the IA because you can reroll 1's that cause the attack to fizzle and gets hot. Also reroll missed scatter die.

Your crisis suits. I go one or the other, sunforge or burningeye. Try getting 3 in there and DS them. Drop the ml drones. They fire at BS 2 so forget them. Take other drones. Gun if your going burning eye, shield for sunforge.

Troops. I recommend kroot. More versatile and they don't give your opponent a squishy blob to shoot at t1. They are more surgical however, if you let them get caught in the open... Squish. Run with a hound for acute senses. And give them snipers. With sniper ammo they can strip av 12, pop transports, and they eat MCs for lunch. if you are set on FW's then run at least 9 so you can lose 3 before you moral check. And you will need an aegis or they die.

Pathfinders. Giving them a rail rifle attracts undue attention, ditch it. You need ml tokens more than that crap anyway.

Hammerheads suck without longstrike, add him or go skyray. I argue that sensor spines do the job of disruption pods so save the points for another broadside.

Broadsides. All hymp's with mps and missile drones if you have points. Make it a 3 man if at all possible and play them aggressive enough to keep them shooting. Remember to attach the commander if they get in trouble.

I glazed over some finer points but that will set you up pretty well. At least gives you a fighting chance so you can feel it out from there.

Alright thanks for the advice!!!

Considering some changes here is what I did. The biggest thing I am struggling with is using the Riptide over a squad of Crisis suits with the HQ joined to it. If I did swap the crisis team for a riptide I would make the commander a buffmander and have him swap between the Broadside team and the Riptide

HQ - Commander - 165
- Iridium, DC, MsSS, CnC, 1 x Marker Drone

Troops - 160
10x FW Team
10x Kroot w Sniper ( I would infiltrate and not reserve)

Elites - 229
Riptide
-Ion Accelerator. EWO, Stim, Plasma

Fast Attack- 55
5x Pathfinder

Heavy Support - 395
Ionhead w/ Longstrike, SMS, Sensor Spines,
Broadside Team as follows
1x HYMP, SMS, Velocity Tracker
1x HYMP, SMS
1x Heavy Rail Rifle, SMS, Target Lock

Edit - Points added
Edit 2 - Updated to current list

I'm sure you just forgot to move some stuff around. your crisis team has no guns? And the drones will only fire at bs 2. Use a buffmander, put the marker drones and drone controller on him. And you won't be disappointed with a riptide, I know they are a bit pricy but they are a staple for tau.

Also ally farsight enclaves, then your suits are troops also.

Alright I did some more swaps. I went with the Riptide and included a single marker drone with the commander.

I updated the post above with my current list as of now!

Thanks for the comments btw!
