As title says. Thinking from a competitive tournament POV... Is there anything non FW we would want to take from the fast attack slot? I usually have enough marker lights via all my drones and sky rays...

I quite like the bomber but I'm yet to find someone who agrees with me

Piranhas are actually really good. Keep them bare, and get a full unit of five for 200 points. That's 10 AV11 HPs and 10 T4 4+ Drones for mobile interference.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

Sunshark bomber is OK. It does well in lower point games when there's not a lot available to deal with it.

Vespid with markerlight support can be fun.

You can always try kitting pathfinders out with railrifles.

I play:
40K: Daemons, Tau
AoS: Blades of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch
Warmachine: Convergence of Cyriss
Infinity: Haqqislam, Tohaa
Malifaux: Bayou
Star Wars Legion: Republic & Separatists
MESBG: Far Harad, Misty Mountains

As crappy as the bomber looks, I've seen it used in a couple battle reports and it's done very well. The turrets are invaluable against rear armor of enemy flyers.

Bomber can be useful if applied correctly. Pirahnas can be sweet too, once you have some experience with them. I run my Tau allied to a Space Marine Drop Pod list, and I quite like the Vespid Stingwings. Deep Strike them into cover, within 6' of a locator beacon for zero scatter, and the open up with AP 3 weapons? Hotness.

Big problem I have is I run Tau Farsight + Tau. So my entire troop slots are filled up, my heavy slots are filled up and I already have 2x RipTides and don't really want anymore...

So I need something to "fill up" the rest of my points for my 1850 list. I guess Pirahnas could work but I don't like that the burst cannon is only 18". I would probably deploy them in reserve with my troops since their so fragile. (At least compared to everything else that is usually on my field (RipTides, AV13 and Buffcommander with Iridium)

They'll be such an easy target if they were deployed out >_<

Can't believe no one has said marker drone squadrons. They are by far the best source of marker lights.

Vs pathfinders...
Better armor.
Better toughness.
Can be buffed by a commander with a controller.
Can move AND fire the marker.
Can jetpack back to cover.

All that for +4 pts per model over pathfinders.

They also have BS2, so you need 3 marker drones to get the same amount of marks you get from 2 pathfinders.

Sure, 3 drones are far harder to kill and much more mobile, but they cost THAT much more.
22 to 42 points. that's almost DOUBLE.
And the drone commander?
Assuming a bare-bnes droner, and 6 drones, you got 177 points to get the same amount of marks you get from 110 points of 10 pathfinders.

Marker drones are not that good solo. only as part of another unit that already has a commander in it.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

this is precisely is what Vassal is for. It's so fun to run ridiculous stuff to try out things you would not normally buy.

Oh vespid, how i want to love thee.

If they were not 18points per model, leadership of 6, assault 1, 1 attack. Sure you can MAKE them good but...why.

Your basic Arachnid warrior isn't too smart, but you can blow off a limb, and it's still 86 percent combat effective. Here's a tip: Aim for the nerve stem, and put it down for good.
