It's one of those things we all hate doing, but which component of a Space Marine bugs you the most when it comes to cleaning mould lines?

And what other armies units are particularly bad for mould lines?

Honestly I had a great time with orks. I rarely had many mold lines that were difficult to deal with. I started getting some marines and HOLY CRAP they are everywhere.

Boltguns can be fiddly. But they come up good with a bit of care.

For me it's backpacks. No edge is more than 2mm long before encountering another change in direction and they always have bad mould lines, or even noticeable misalignments.

Really? Seriously? Clean the mold lines off a Tau fire warrior. No no, don't say anything. Just go and clean the stupid thing. Go on, I'll wait.

Sorry, I don't have any Tau models because I'm not a communist

On a Marine? Bolter's probably the fiddliest, but I've never had a badly moulded backpack.

Now, Sisters... THOSE are a beach to clean of mould lines. At least with plastic you can just scrape it with the back of the knife.

Yes weapons are by far the worse thing to clean of mold lines!

Whatever sculptor designed their mold with a mother fething mold line running down the center of a curved shoulder pad that later has to hold a transfer and won't if you don't clean it properly should be covered with honey and tied to a stake in Winnie the Pooh's 100 acre wood.

I do not care about mould lines that much. I remove the most obvious ones, but most of the time, you can only see them if you look really closely.
It is not like you are going to notice them on the tabletop.

You might want to look at the spelling...

Also, tau aren't communist (far from it) they are utilitarian.

I don't have much of an issue with cleaning mould lines, but a poorly cast chainsword is a pain to fix. I usually will leave the teeth alone to avoid destroying them. Backpacks are a close second.

Probably the shoulder pads, if they have mold lines. (Some don't, depending on how they were made.)

The newer kits seem to have far fewer (and milder) mold lines. My Centurions and my recent Dark Eldar have hardly had any at all. My old Tau have lines for days.

I dislike flashing the models, but my wife hates this part of the process. The scraping sound drives her absolutely bananas.

Welcome to the Freakshow!
