C) within 2 inch radius

That's the point that I was not sure, do the RAW include the caster as friendly vs himself?

Because the caster has no relationship with himself. He could niether count himself as enemy nor friendly.
But to address the OP, it does not say "another friendly model" so choosing the caster is probobly OK.
