So I've been looking at the Skycutter and already I can see this is not just a simple case of cut it out and glue it together - at least if one wants to get the most out of each one and transport it to and from games.

Already I can see it as a 3 part model, one part cutter, one part eagle and one part base. I plan to use 3mm magnets and some straws so that I can magnetize it to the base; GWs idea of ball and socket seems good but I can see it weakening over time and on something like the Skycutter easily flopping to the side.
Using the straws as a sheath around the flight peg so that the magnet on the end of the peg will have something to attach to (my experiments with a magnet flush to a flight stand have shown that magnets tend to come off - the straw around the magnet area and attached to the stand should at least give more area for the glue to hold tight).

Wings on the eagle don't have much of a natural peg to them nor as much space inside the eagle body. I'm thinking that it would be easier to fix the wings permanent rather than removable

Nothing body wise on the sky chariot is really removable so that will have to be all one complete unit. Riders wise I'm not certain if its possible to easily magnetize them; although having read reviews it seems that the bolt thrower version is the most suitable for general use whilst hero mount is the least suitable.

So has any one got any experiences to share with regard to the skycutter?
