Continued from Full Ice Sanction Price : Of course, the last target was the area where the Janakians had the Psykers held. That was where Vasily and his men alongside the last group of Ice Sanction and Romanov's bunch were headed together, along with Teona and Father Orlov. Here they encountered the toughest defenders they could have run into for any of them. Tau Crisis and Broadside suits from the trade enclave of Janak IV from the Tau. Upon seeing that, Rat took the stick with the "ZZzzt" flag out of his Melta gun and primed the weapon, along with Ogre and Chef. The Ice sanction team with the Ice Captain was armed with the heavy lasers and missile launchers, Romanov's team got their weapons ready as did Teona Zhvedvedova and Father Orlov. The Heavy support team fired their missiles and Heavy beams into the broadsides, one falling as the weapons found their marks, the others stood as their drones sparked and fell burnt out by the overload, the crisis team was caught by the three meltas two of the first team falling as the landing force assaulted the heavy suits, Romanov and his acolytes fell upon another crisis team, Father Orlov with them, Teona with Vasily's team power weapons and eviscerator swinging as the men and women of the teams fought the heavy power suits of the aliens, the captain of the Ice Sanction hurled himself into the fray his vibro blade out and humming as it cut through armor. The heavy weapon troopers watched for any other interference. Soon the swirling melee was over, the aliens down and beaten, the Khadrovians a little battered and bruised, but ready for another run of fighting if need be.
They moved on reports were coming in on the secured comms of the other teams hitting similar delays. They moved through several massive doors along the way, the sense that something was very wrong struck most of them, if it did so to the power armored troops they did not comment on it. Even with their soulless auras, the power of the warp was showing very strong here; enough that it made the hairs on the normal folks' necks stand on end. They had found a lot of Psykers and Mutants, dead ones stacked like cordwood in alcoves, but the worst scene was the pinkish hued light that spun in the central chamber, surrounded by standing plinths where psykers and psychic mutants were strapped into, their energy visibly fueling the light. Standing at the huge pillar of light were Janakian officers, a Tau delegation, and a massively armored figure in Terminator armor, but this armor was wrong looking as it was growing horns, and twisted like flesh over the figure so massive. Other figures were coming out of the light pillar, twisted shapes bearing ancient weapons and eyes aglow with malefic energy.
The better look of the hulking figure and the ones walking through the portal powered by the psyker's life forces showed the massive figure had bat like wings on it's back and a long tail and neck with a very reptilian head, eyes gleamed gold, red scales with striped patterns on them, under the massive suit of armor. Other being coming through also wore the baroque armor and they too were quite reptilian in appearance, their scales and armor in different colors per group.
Then the Tau spoke "Are you sure these troops will do well for you Governor? We are totally unfamiliar with their species and technology." to which the rebellious governor responded, "Of course, their large leader promises that they are intimately familiar with the region and and that they can also send word to other enclaves of their Kraal' Q brethren to raise even larger forces, seems that they have been laying very low and avoiding too much contact for some time, waiting for a sign to come out of hiding and restore their empire of long ago, they were unsure until the Necrons awoke, and the Eldar were few in number."
The massive reptilian commander stomped over to the group, dwarfing them at his nine feet of height, his tassled weapon looked more for hand o hand than any shooting, a pistol and grenades at his hips. gold trimmed his layered armor. "Worry not ssmall beingss, we will make your planet into a fortress which none may assail!"
At that moment, he snorted out air, his tongue flicked purple to black he scanned the cavern warily. "We are no longer alone, your ssecurity hass failed Governor, prepare to fight!" at which point he raised the staff weapon which suddenly glowed and emitted a bolt of eldritch energy in the general direct of where the Khadrovians were hidden and observing them.
Taking their cue, the Null knight team moved swiftly forwards, the magical energy of the long weapons having no impact upon them as the bolts dissipated inches from the blank power armored troops. Romanov then said, "We follow the Nulls in! Ura!" he shouted, all of the other also shouted "URA!" loudly as they leapt from hiding to go into action.

The leader of the Ice Sanction troopers was pushed aside with a swat from the alien commanders long tail, sent crashing amongst a squad of close combat reptiles. His team which got to the reptilian leader first all had to deal with him, his weapon energized and longer hafted than their wrist mounted powerblades. His speed and ferocity was such that three fo the five were downed in one sweep of his weapon. This gave the Inspector General pause, watching such potent soldiers felled by but one creature, where they had always succeeded before. his retinue also paused to watch as the Ice Sanction captain took his cut of the enemy he landed amongst, two lay wounded, but he also suffered cuts in his heavy armor. Vasily and the commissar went after the Governor, the Tau were pursued by the retinue under Katarina's directions.
A voice in the Inspector General's ear bud paused him further, "Allow us to deal with the leader Inspector General, you can deal with other issues" and over his head leapt a pair of shadows, one in browns the other in shades of black and blue, Code named Castor and Polux, the odd knights he had picked up in his travels took to the alien commander and the hums, whirs, and buzz of the weapons sounded as they also clashed with terrible noise as the two mysterious, yet helpful warriors kept the Commander at bay so Romanov could shut down the portals before more alien horrors could come through them., this he did by killing the psykers engaged as gate makers, and their lessers as power supplies.
Vasily and his men were hot on the Governors' tail when he and his retinue cleared and shut the doors for the emergency turbo-lifts, as had the Tau Ambassador, Father Orlov made the door ring with a powerful fist strike on that door "Damn filthy Xenos, now how can we catch them?" Vasily observed, "By the time we cut their doors to try and disable or go after them that way, we will have lost too much time., Now we are likely to lose the Governor and his Tau accomplices." Then a secrety panel opened, out came the carapaced soldiers from Kruegeria, not thie rdark clad specialist, but the standard troopers, one, an officer by his markings, and his hat, simply smiled when he saw them all and said t them, "Anyone need a lift? this seems a heavy duty one, plenty of room for all, I am Lt. Rommel at your service" he had not just his four man retinue, but another team of ten men in that lift. With that, they climbed aboard and started the ascent up to try and catch or keep on the governor's tail. "So, what do we do when we find these scum?" the Lt. asked, to which, Katarina, the senior most person replied, "We kill them."
On the surface, the landings were being met with attacks by the royal air cops of the Janakian Guards, land forces with their tanks and artillery support, as the Governor had been holing back troops, his army for a single world out in the Pearl Strand sector was of a large size. These units were joined by Tau forces and these strange alien lizards, to which the Spetznats were deployed as were the specialist of several worlds in the Khadrovian Union. Power armored soldiers from Kruegeria, the heavy troops from Arkeletzya, Amexadian Roughnecks, so many answered the call to glory against these enemies and foul traitors. Air power met air power, tanks clashed with tanks, artillery dueled artillery, soldiers locked from firefights to hand to hand with power weapons and bayonets.
Below, the whir and twirl of weapons went on, soldiers of the Ice Sanction, their commander wounded but still fighting, countered as best they could the alien soldiers, Romanov got to the psykers, and as suggested, their deaths closed the first portal down, which distracted the alien leader, "NO!" it shouted as it tried to break from the knights, he had been holding the two at bay and his weapon was able to fight their Gnashing Naginata and the Plasma Claws of the potent knights, when he was distracted, Polux used his Gravity gauntlet to push him back from Romanov, "Nuh uh uh, so rude to leave your guests when we are having such an interesting conversation!" Polux said, his robes and armor making him a difficult target as had Castors" the alien was less hidden due to bulk, and the ornamental brass trimming.
"Sscumm! you only delay the inevitable! the Kraal' Q Dominion sshall be reborn, and rule thiss ssector once more!" the creature replied. "So, you call yourselves Krawlk? interesting xenos name to be in the books of those defeated by Humanity" the knight taunted,
"No Hyu-Mon, Kraal' Q, not Krawlk!" he corrected, the sound more phonetically like (Krah-l K with a glottal stop between the L and Q). "Now you fight, but I sshall be back as you defeated my ssmall contingent, we have much much more to fight with!" and he whirled his weapon and saw the portal s were being put out of commission, but he was also engaged with the pair of knights, he would have to use an alternate escape.
Mikhail Romanov dispatched the last of the psykers, then he saw it was time to help fight the soldiers and make sure he had Ice Sanction troopers to mend and use again!
By the time that Vasily and the retinue, and now the Kruegerians got to the arrival spot of the Governor and Tau, he watched in frustration as the traitors and their xenos allies boarded a Orca and took off from the battle site, the Governor was leaving his capital.
The Ice Sanction soldiers, Romanov, and the knights had just a few alien soldiers and that hulking commander left to deal with. "Surrender xenos, it is over!" he shouted, The Xenos horror looked at the humans, saw they were outnumbered yet still, then pressed a jewel on his armor, as did the remaining soldier caste with him, "I think not Hyu-mon, one day we may meet again, but under better circumsstancess, and we sshall be victorious over you!" and witht hat, the shine flash and thunder of a teleport activation filled the chamber, the aliens having departed as if they never were. The wounded were collected, and Romanov needed to know what had happened above.
When he arrived, he could see the look of disappointment on the faces of the others, he knew it may happen. "We will get them, we have the planet surrounded, and they can't escape. Our forces will defeat theirs, and then we will have them."
It would take months of battles, The strange Kraal' Q also departed and a ship slipped away, a ship of unknown design.
The Tau fought by the side of the Governor' troops, but mostly to get to lift points so as to evacuate, most made it, some were stopped by the fleet. in the end, the Governor's troops were fighting the Unions' armies alone, fighting from city to city, backing up, but always fighting, their reserve depleted, the Governor in a command bunker never saw justice, he and others took their own lives, avoiding trials and judgments as cowards do.
The Khadrovian Union would help the planet Janak V rebuild, it would be a subject world under careful watch of the Inspectoria and S.C.H.M.E.R.T.Z. and also watched for returning xenos.
They also knew now of a new threat, these embittered and power mad Kraal' Q who were ready to help the Governor, but likely in the end to enslave his world, to start their bid for re-domination of what they claimed as their own empire.
for the rest, new assignments were likely to be handed out.
Inspector General Romanov stood back on the ship he operated from with the Ice Sanction troops, Vasily asked him, "So, where did you find those two Inspector General?" indicating the two strange powered armor wearing knights, Mikhail smiled, "That my friend is a long and classified story which in our old age I might be able to share with you over drinks."
