What is the point of Bladestorm resolving at AP2 if it automaticall wounds? They opposing players wouldn't get a saving throw anyways. I'm just not quite sure why the Bladestorm descriptions even bothers to mention the AP value.
When it says it automatically wounds that doesn't mean "no saves allowed"
Just that it still wounds something even if the Str/T chart would indicate you can't wound. By adding the AP 2 it threatens both huge toughness MCs, elite infantry and everything in between.

There is also Special Abilities out there which take the AP of the weapon into consideration, for example Aun'va is completely immune to AP 1 shots thanks to his additional 'inverse save.'
