4 Flying MC's 6 overall. Synapse bubbles everywhere. Antiair, Anti-horde, anti-armor.

Used this list in a tournament yesterday with moderate success winning 3 games and losing 1. Zoanthropes wrecked serious shop and also took a lot of fire allowing the rest of the army to position itself. Mawloc killed an entire terminator squad just popping onto the table after the Zoantropes blew up their land raider. Having so many units on the board also gave my opponents which were Taudar, SW, Grey Knights, and Necrons too many choices. Necrons were the only list to beat me and did so just barely. Was pleasantly surprised by how well this did and like the punch the new units like the harpy's and exocrine packed. The Taudar with their farseer struggled with the Shadow in the Warp rolls since one of the tyrants was within 12" for a good chunk of the game.

It feels like the Venomthropes aren't really bringing much to this list. Did you find them useful? I would drop them for something else. Maybe more biovores and some devourers for the gants. Even if you don't drop them all, I'd drop at least one.

You're absolutely right. They did a decent job sheperading the gaunts for a bit and really only took them because I had the models. A future list will drop them and the biovore and add something more sinister like another exocrine.

I don't get the Harpy over the Crone why be S9 when you can be two Haywire shots? Also S8 vector strikes are awesome.

I'd like to see more Monstrous Creatures 6 seems very few for competitive play at 1850.

1) Guns
2) cheaper

Hormie are a pure assault unit in an an edition that makes getting the assault really really a pain. I think most would run Gargoyles if Gargoyles were troops.

also, did you not find the venoms shrouding that useful? that seems like it would actually help out a lot

Did you feel like you got good fire power? Or anything that would make you consider taking 3 hive guard with the Assault 2, str8, ignores cover, ignore line of site? Something about this unit seems very appealing to me, but i dont really see anyone else talking it up. In your games did you feel this unit could of been great or better than anything else you had as far as elite, fast, or heavy slots.

Hive guard used to be Bs4 and 5 points cheaper so everyone took them. As they are now worse and more expensive people are staying away from them.

Why run so many small squads of gaunts? If you combined them all into 20 unit squads, managing synapse would be easier.

Did the Exocrine generally kill his points worth, or was he just filling an unoccupied niche (AP2)?
How about Mawloc? In the game when he didn't get the lucky shot on the terminators, did he do anything of note?

Were your opponents prepared for a flying circus?
