DakkaDakka,

As the title says...I'm looking at finishing out my Wargaming table...specifically for 40k. I have bought into two Kickstarter Companies; Frontline Gaming & Doublesix Dice. With the MegaMat, in my opinion, the ideas can be anything you set your mind too. I would like to round out my Wargaming table with a nice sturdy gaming surface, removable terrian, and a dice tray. Do you have any suggestions for any of those?

Terrian: perferrably from a company that is buy it and put it together yourself or an easy and pain free tutorial

Gaming Surface: maybe a fold out table but something for unipue. Maybe a soild handmade table that is foldable?

Dice tray: any suggestions on this would be awesome. What is the recommended size, material, etc

Mr. Raynor

Hey mate.
I picked up a terraflex molded silicon gaming mat a while ago, the one with a ruined city texture - at 6'x4'.

What i've done is i've picked up two lengths of 6' wood planks, and a 6'x4' piece of MDF, cut in half down the middle.
I lay the planks on the dining room table, then put the mdf on top of that, followed by the gaming mat, which just rolls out.
I also added some cheap flat stoppers on to the wood planks to make sure nothing ever slips - all up the wood and stoppers only cost about $30 AUD - Stupid cheap!

As for terrain, i use slavetopainting.com - they have a pretty killer range of terrain.
Also be sure to check out ebay - there is HEAPS of awesome laser cut and resin stuff on there.

In regards to the dice tray, just use whatever you like - you can even get some cool dice towers from on ebay or some gaming sites, or even make it yourself out of whatever you have lying around that either has or can be cut down to have a bit of ridge to stop dice flying everywhere. Add a bit of felt if it's too noisy too.
EDIT: I just remmebered that KR Multicase do a portable dice tray that's pretty rad - but may be a bit expensive http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KR-Aluminium-Accessory-Case-wargaming-and-role-playing-roll-your-dice-in-one-/331103642096?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item4d1750a1f0

Dude!

Thank you. Super good advice. I totally think I'm stealing your idea for the gaming surface

I've chacked EBAY and man does that stuff go quick :(

Again, thank you for the advice.

No problem at all, mate.
Also, if you want more gaming surfaces in the future, i strogly suggest you check out the terraflex mats from Zuzzy miniatures.
They actually do some terrain too! All amazing stuff. They are a garage operation, so expect it to take some time to make your mat, but my god the quality is amazing and the price is even better.
They come in a huge variety of sizes, and even do sample pieces if you want to try before you buy.

Also, you should google "warhammer terrain templates" - there is a whole heap of people out there who have been kind enough to make .pdf's of some AMAZING terrain they have created and shared, especially buildings and fortifications. They just require printing out the stencils, then using them to cut shapes out of cardboard or platicard, or whatever else you have lying around.

If you want to know anything else, let me know.

If you have a way to get things lasercut (or milled) I've posted up a series of walkways in DXF. ^^
