So I just finished watching Lester Bursley's painting tutorial on Saim Hann and saw that he used inks with a black wash on white to create a very smooth gradient. Not only that but it appears to work great for the eyes too...

So my question is that since I can't obtain the inks he used (Vallejo ink) could I use Daler Rowney's FW inks to achieve a similar result?

Or would I need to modify the ink to make it similar to Vallejo's stuff?

And if anyone has any good reads on tips for inks like this I would love it if you shared it with me.
