I downloaded battlescribe and used it mostly for just building rosters, but yesterday I decided maybe I could make a game sys. based on my cousins game ... I have just about everything down but I cant really seem to make RPGy enough certain things are missing since its ultimately geared towards army building. But I wonder if there is anything out there that can do what im looking for. basically a game system/cat/ros. editor that can make a game system for an rpg, a cat. for faction and ros. for a character....I think itd be interesting.... please feel free to give me some feedback on this idea

seriously though, if some one like battlescribe or even they, themselves made one I'd download it in a heart beat. That is pretty expensive especially for something that could be made probably easily. Just like battlescribe ...it doesn't need to be fancy . ARMYBUILDER and stuff has cool backgrounds and other junk that no one cares about. I wish battlescribe would make rpgscribe or something haha

Herolab is what I use. I sincerely doubt you are going to find a quality one as free almost never equals quality in terms of programs like that.

You may want to take a look at PCGen - designed for D20/OGL games, but it can be modified.

I actually prefer PCGen to Herolab, and add in the fact that PCGen is free while Herolab would need a wheelbarrow filled with money....
