So I sold my High Elves as painting that much white really took the wind out of my painting sails. The wife still has Dark Elves which are waiting for some new models before any more work is done(new book scrapped my 40 crossbows and 25 spearmen).
So moving from the dainty Asur, I've moved to my first true love in Warhammer: Tzeentch. I've always loved the colors, the backstory, and the modelling opportunities that come along with devoting oneself to the Great Deceiver.
So first up is my future
BSB. Manticore rider torso, warrior legs. Greenstuff was needed in the base of the spine, as well as to position his left arm properly to hold the banner pole and his shield. Both this model and the following sorcerer have magnetized feet so that I can swap them onto a Disc of Tzeentch at a moments notice.
Next we have my Tzeentch Sorcerer. Pretty much the same as above with different parts. Only had to
GS the base of the spine and trim down the cape.
My test Screamer. For Skullcrushers, since I'm running a "mono Tzeentch" army fluff wise, I needed to come up with a conversion that made sense.
The Skullcrusher riders. Bestigor bodies, Chaos Knight arms(and shields), and heads from the Chaos Chariot box with the Slaanesh and Khorne symbols removed(hard to make these out with the current paint layer). I'm in love with this conversion, even if it ran me $75 to make a $55 unit.
My Warriors. I'll be running 2 units of 17 leaving room for the sorc and
BSB in each. Fairly straightforward stuff right now, Vallejo Liquid Gold should make them pop quite nicely once I get there.
And lastly, the basing scheme I'm going with(which took a ton of testing to get right). Agrellan Earth primed gray, airbrushed white, washed with watered down Guilliman Blue Glaze, drybrushed Ceramite White. Not sure on an edge color just yet.
