So I have an extra terminator helm laying around. It's got a bionic eye thingy on it. I have an unpainted Mareus model and was wondering if it would be bad to put the helmet on him.

He'd definitely look unique.

Your thoughts?

Like the idea. May steal it! I've never understood why people would ever go without a helmet in the 41st Mellenium, particularly when the helmets have built in everything augmentation (if we're to believe the black library)

One of them filthy casuals...

Do it! Calgar's face is as ugly as the night, a helmet will make him look a lot better and awesome.

I think this is a great idea, there is nothing in the rules that says Calgar never wears a helmet..... Not that I have read anyway

Lol, gold would be a little too much maybe. I dunno. I was thinking of giving him veteran white but is that more for Marines and NCO's? Maybe officers wouldn't wear the white helm. Maybe I will go gold, gold and white

Probably would look less goofy at least.

I did this with a Librarian model for my Grey Knights with a Paladin head.
Looks 100x better.

I reckon Calgar would look awesome with the right Terminator head.

If i wanted Calgar, I'd give him Tartaros TDA, it does prevent sweeps, just like Papa smurfs TDA.

I say go for it.

Just Converted my librarian in terminator armor this exact way. Was pretty easy, no real sculpt or green stuff required. Go for it and paint it gold. Those ultras love that color almost as much as blue!

I've seen it done and I think it looks okay. I like my characters to have visible faces since it gives them more, well, character. Yeah, it doesn't make sense from a realistic standpoint, but neither do walking tanks whose primary function on the battlefield is punching things.

Hi there,

There's no rule that says you can't replace Calgar's head with a terminator helmet.

In fact I also do not like my units to head into battle without their helmets. Having said this, I replaced my plastic Librarian's head with a helmet.

In fact, the helmet may make Calgar look better!

Blue helmet, I think. Sicarius has a blue helmet, as do the other Captains. Makes sense that Calgar should too.

You should have said "I don't like my units to head into battle with...their heads
Found a few pics of Marneus with a helmet and shockingly, gold looks really good.

Do it. But not gold.

Purple. Paint the helmet purple.

And stick a huge, feth-off gold feather in it.

While that looks good, I feel that white with a gold stripe down the middle would look good, too. Just throwing ideas out there!

I agree I think White would look pretty cool, would break up all the blue and gold very nicely

I'm almost done, going to use a super fine map marker to make the design on the white of the cloak.
Be gentle, this model was way too complicated and for my experience level.

Did a white stripe on his helmet

This is how he looks without armour and super-white makeup.

Spoiler:

Hidden because it is a spoiler for C.S. Goto's upcoming Ultramarines novel.

Wait, is that respect for Calgar I feel?

Impossibru.

Obviously this retcon is evil.

Yes I know it's a joke.
