I've seen a hell of a lot of high point tyranid armies, Ranging from 1500 to 2500 I thought I'd try something a little different and see what people think. So let me know and we'll try and devise a list that is awesome for 600 Points.

HQ:
Hive Tyrant /w Wings + 2 Twin linked Devourers. 230

Pretty Bog standard HQ choice. Clearly the best HQ in the codex. Goes on the hunt for vehicles and can punch some face too. Very resilient and not much can hurt it at this points cost.

Elites:
Venom Thrope 45

My opinion is that this guy here is the Jewel of the codex. He is going to sit on a home object and give the tervigon and himself a 2+ coversave in ruins or a 3+ in forest depending whether Scenery Permits.

Troops:
30 Termagants 120

Allows me to take a troop Tervigon. Thats about it. Still not sure what to do with these. Run them up or Keep them at home. Keeping them near the tervigon might be dangerous.

Tervigon 195

Allows me to sit this guy on an objective with a venom thrope and claim a ridiculous cover save. Not much will take this out at range (Except maybe Tau/Eldar) And I will have loads babies surrounding him to protect him from melee. What do you guys think?

Total comes to 590 so I have 10 Points to spare. Any Comments/Criticisms?

Anything on this, I know it's a relativity new codex but someone has to have something to say?

I love small games of 40K! While I do think the Flyrant is awesome in small games, as your only attacker if he gets taken out you are most likely going to have a hard time. Maybe try giving Spike Rifles to to the Gants so they have some range to be shooting. I would personally also try to run a small unit of Genestealers with a Broodlord to tie up units with The Horror power. That's also fewer units being able to deal with the Flyrant to let him do his thing.

It's hard to get the points, I feel like the genestealers would just die instantly but yes I felt that the tyrant was the only attacking force, maybe if I footslogged the gant unit up the board? Spike rifles maybe, they just seem quite underwhelming

I would mix Spinefists and Spike rifles in the guants. The first for accuracy and the later for range. This will give you better shooting options and you will spawn the basic gun. Would also look at Dominion on the trevigon if you don't get catalyst help reduce the synapse backlash.

If you had to pay the rifles rifles would not be worth it, but as a free swap you gain 6 inches. so you can either leave them in the back and have the whole brood able to shoot, or stick them out front and have a 24" threat range.

I can see where your coming from with the spike rifles but it just doesn't seem very strong as a ranged weapon

I've decided I'm going to give the whole unit spine fists, statistically they are stronger against Guardsmen and exactly the same against MEQ
