I have recently found myself ending up going to melbourne for 2 weeks in a few days. Given NZ has nearly no game stores i thought it would be a cool chance to actually see whats its like in them. Which are the better game stores in the area? I wont be able to bring my armies due to short notice but just to look around and see what others get up to in the hobby outside of my normal group. And incase i feel like spending which one has better variety of models and so on?

I saw a few on the store finder so just general info on them would be awesome.

In my experience 'round these parts, most independent game stores tend to have a very limited amount of stock on hand, but are usually happy to order some in for you within a week or two if you ask.

If you have nothing against Games Workshops and are staying way out in the eastern suburbs, the one in Ringwood has a pretty active community and has most 40k and WHFB items in stock. There's almost always someone there who'd be willing to have a game with you and the store has a few armies on hand that you can play with.
