I just started a new escalation league with my orks, and I was thinking of making fun ork list. But after getting tabled two games in a row I guess I will start going more competitive. The only bad thing is I can't change my 750 point list this month, but when the 1250 point round starts I will go a different direction.

My new list is going to be just a basic shooty list.

HQ: Big mek with kff, heavy armor, boss pole, and cybork

Elites: 10 lootas x 2

Troops: Hard shoota boys x 19
Shoota boys x 19 hard nob with choppa, and boss pole

Fast: Dakka jet with fighta ace and extra super shoota

Heavy: Battlewagon with deffrolla, and red paint
Boom gun with 2 big shootas, and hard case.

That's about it. I know my Battlewagon is going to be wide out in the open, but I'm hoping it's armor and the kff will some up a lot of fire. The lootas, boom gun, and shootas will just sit back and support from cover and camp objectives.I know orks aren't super powerful right now, but if I have to get kinda cheesy to win then so be it. I don't know if anyone else is going to bring flyers, but the dakka jets are one of the best ork units now right? So I might as well bring two. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hullo, fellow Ork player here: I'm pretty new to 6th edition, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

My suggestion would be to lose the looted wagon and 'ard upgrade on that shoota boys mob in favour of just getting more boys. A 4+ armour save won't help much against a lot of stuff, but it costs a lot of points. The KFF will provide enough protection for it's cost, especially if it's in the battlewagon so you can measure from the edges of the vehicle. The looted wagon has animosity, a scatter weapon with BS2, and AV11 - it's unreliable at best. With all those points you save, you could get an additional mob of boys and fill out those squads you do have with some nobs with bosspoles, and maybe some power klaws if you want some extra punch, to keep them fighting when their numbers get low.

Some bosses like red paint jobs on their vehicles, I think it's too costly for not enough benefit. YMMV. Also, you should put at least one big shoota on the battlewagon so that a weapon destroyed result doesn't just turn into immobilised (I'm pretty sure that's how it works).
