A few things to know; I know that the list is low on markerlights and the troops have no transports, but since I'm limited in what I can spend, I chose to focus on putting as many threats on the board as I could (and getting cool stuff instead of fish). Before I spend what money I have I'm hoping to produce the best list that I can (I already have the Crisis Suits and the Fire Warriors, with about $320 to spend on the rest).

HQ -
Commander; TL Fusion, Target Lock, Drone Controller, 1 Marker Drone (each)

Elite-
XV8 Crisis Team (x3); TL Fusion, Target Lock, 1 Marker drone
Riptide; Ion Accelerator, SMS, EWO, VT
Riptide; Heavy Burst Cannon, SMS, EWO, VT

Troops
Fire Warriors (x12)
Fire Warriors (x12)
Fire Warriors (x12)

Heavy Support
Skyray; BSF, Disruption Pod
Skyray; BSF, Disruption Pod
Hammerhead; Longstrike, Submunition Rounds, Disruption Pod

1. Don't use Fire Warriors in any competative build. I prefer using Kroot because they are less points and they come in from a table edge. Also if you place your objectives smart you can have you Kroot essentially walk on to one. Also take a Kroot hound with them so you can re-roll what side you come in from, if you dont like your initial role. If you really want to take Fire Warriors just throw them behind a defense line and camp an objective too.

2. Since you already have 2 Skyrays, I would drop the hammerhead. The skyrays provide the necessary markerlight support, and they put out a fair amount of damage too. You also get more points to spend then. Skyrays should also take TL MP.

3. Crisis Suit teams are good, but take Tl Fusion and Plasma. Make a single unit of 3. They will be your melta squad to DS and take out big troublesome models.

4. Dont take a commander, Take commander Farisight so you can DS without scatter. He would go with the melta squad. also take gun drones on the melta squad so you can bubble wrap it and keep it alive as long as possible.

Here is the list that I would run:

HQ
Farsight

Elites
Riptide: IA, SMS, EWO, VT
Riptide: HBC, SMS, EWO, VT

XV8 Crisis Team- TL Fusion, Plasma, 2x Gun Drones

Troops:
Kroot Carnivore Squad - 1 Hound
Kroot Carnivore Squad - 1 Hound
Kroot Carnivore Squad - 1 Hound

Heavy Support:
Skyray : MP
Skyray : MP

I have not totally made sure that the points work, but this is just a rough draft. Tell me if you have anymore questions. You could probably add more because i believe this is under priced. Peace.

With 2 Skyrays and a HBC tide with VT, you're fine on AA. Use some of the points from losing VT on the IA tide to get ECPA on the HBC guy. He reallllly needs it to be consistently good.

As for the commander, I'm lukewarm on commanders who actually fight things as opposed to an allied Tau buiffmander or a Mark'o with marker drones, but IF you are going to have your commander fight, and IF his name is not actually Farsight, don't bother with twin-linked. He's already BS5! So take double weapons.

In addition, if your warlord and those fusion suits are going to be dropping in and causing AT mayhem, you need a couple target locks in there so you can shoot at different targets. With proper placement (and poor deployment/movement by your opponent) you can kill 3ish birds with one stone.

Make the 2 or so drones that should be in there of the shield variety. That way you at least have a chance of eating a S8 AP3 blast (or better) without losing too many suits.

Lastly, someone in there needs a VRT. At least your warlord needs to be able to get out of there alive if something nasty catches them in combat, so I guess it should be him to carry it.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

Firewarriors are some of the best infantry in the game when equipped with rifles and backed up by an Ethereal. One squad of 12 and one squad of 11 will one turn pretty much any troop choice in the game. Used properly they are point for point the best killy troops in the game after Orks of course.

Kroot are great, I use them all the time, but they kill nothing and die whenever someone looks at them. Be smart when using them.

Deep strike suit bombs are fun, but often die the turn they arrive. Against Eldar, Chaos, or Nids they will be completely useless and will most likely die the turn they arrive.

The hammerhead is one of the best tanks in the game. With Longstrike in it it may be the best AT tank you can get.

Also never TL anything on a BS 5 model. Unless you want to use the Farsight Codex's Fusion Blades, then go for it.

The Marker Drones you have here are also a waist of points, unless used in a stand alone unit, either Pathfinders or a Drone Team with a commander, they are just not that effective. If you want more ignores cover, spend the points on an Airburst Fragmentation Projector or some Flamers.

Another thought may be using the Farsight codex instead. You have nothing here that would be prohibited by the other dex, and you could get am Earthcast Pilot Array and a Talisman for your Riptides. That gives you rerolls for one and 4d6 to deny the witch on the other. That is how I use them, and Chaos and Eldar players fear playing me because of it.

Good luck and may the Greater Good be with you.

Oh one additional thought, Skyrays equipped with SMS do not need BSF. You can not roll cover against any of its weapons, so there is no point considering all of its weapons have a range of 36" or less.
