I have come up with a list that I feel will be very competative, I still have to test it out but on paper it seems pretty solid to me. I am looking for critique, not "this list is bad" or "those units suck" please give actual reasoning behind what you think other that "just because".

Hive Tyrant 260

-2x Devourers
-Electroshock grubs
-Hive Commander

total 1830

The main idea is to field the tyrants, the crone, one tervi, and 30 gaunts, plant the tervi and the gaunts on my back field objective if i have one if not they move upfield. Deepstrike the trygons and outflank with 30 gaunts and the tervigon using gaunts as shields, use trygons, tyrants and crone to wipe their objective up and plant the second tervi on it if possible, lawn mow trygons through their army.
There are a grand total of 8 MCs in this list equating to alot of ap2 and smash attacks if needed, 24 s6 TL shots from my tyrants each turn, haywire missiles from the crone if i really need them.
Looking for serious opinions on this list.

Nice, I personally would just stick to the 1 TL Devourer if your flyrants are also using the electroshock grubs... You may end up getting warp lance and end up having 4 guns on them... If its flyers your worried about you can always vector strike and shoot the 1 TL Devourer (or as I say, you may get to skyfire the warp lance anyways)... 30 points from those could be regen for the advancing tervigon so your outflankers don't get wasted when he gets too close to the enemy and gets popped...

Sons of Orar 2000pts
1850pts
2500pts
Knights 1850pts

I recommend flanking devilgaunt (termagaunts with devourer) since the damage output is amazing and flanking allows them to get into range before being shot to death.

the Trygons im kind of dissapointed since they lost their re-roll to hit and the 10pts reduction isnt good enough I find. But the mawloc is amazing, you save 70pts pts and you get a dude that just as tough and deal more damage (ignores cover) as he comes out.

I wouldnt spend points on the electroshoc grubs on the flyrants since you already spent points to give him 2 guns.

my version of this list would look something like this:

250 1x Flyrant / Hive comander /2x TL Devourers (Warlord)
250 1x Flyrant / Hive comander /2x TL Devourers

45 1x Venomthrope
45 1x Venomthrope
45 1x Venomthrope

225 1x Tervigon / Miasma Cannon
240 30x Termagaunts / Devourer
160 20x Termagaunts / Devourer

155 1x Crone
155 1x Crone

140 1x Mawloc
140 1x Mawloc

total 1850pts

Only one tervigon but plenty of gaunts which are both flanking to shoot the crap out of all sorts of stuff.
Venomthropes in single teams can be hidden from sight and can allow you to survive not starting first without too much casualties.

I played an extended version of this list a few hours ago, up to 2500 points adding a second FoC to take an exocrine, 3 biovores and a second crone against Space Wolves. My outflanking tervigon and the termigaunts came in on opposite board edges so the tervigon go cornered with no meat shields, other than one tervigon they all payed for themselves with kills plus some. I ended up wining 5 - 0 with one objective claimed, first blood on his fire raptor, and Linebreaker, the sheer amount of monstrous creatures i was able to throw in his face with floods of gaunts spilling out from my objective, It was a very fun and close game but I was able to split his army up with my monsterous creatures making it imposible for him to focus fire stuff down.

To be the honest the list looks like a competitive list from the last book just shoved over to the new book.

Flyrant are ace but don't need 3 guns particularly as you may roll a 4th with Psychic powers. With Bs4 I would stick to the Devourers if you want to spend those extra 10 points toxin is the way forward. Rerolls to wound is better than 1 haywire hit.

Tervigons are a bit meh in this book as they took loads of needsand ddidn't receive a single buff. Warriors are better Synapse troops for me and they add cheap 36" range pinning into the equation. Pinning is your friend now as you need it to survive the hail of bullets that will be coming your way. Its what makes Stealers actually pretty awesome in this dex. But if there is a place for the Tervigon it is outflanking with a Miasma Cannon.

Hive Crone is good but like the Flyrant works better in pairs but you do have 2 other FMCs for target saturation.

Trygon is a big fat Meh in this edition. Carnifexes are the CC beasts from HS now due to the points difference (dakkafexes being the go to option). Tyrannofex is your survivable monster with range. The Trygon lost its rerolls and dropped only 10 points compared to 40 for the Fex, 75 for the Tfex and 30 for the Mawloc (which got significantly better at the same time).

Whilst overall you have very little board presence early on and the big issue could be that your opponent has only 3 things worth shooting in 2 turns meaning all 3 are dead (both Flyrants and the Tervigon). And with it your armies hopes.

MTO and board pressure is critical to the Nids in this book and you're waiting til turn 2 before you have any of that. If you go first it could work (depending on how good their first shooting phase is) but otherwise you are toast.
