I recently bought a lot of black templars off of ebay and i am trying to get everything sorted into something that looks like a decent army list. This is what i got from the purchase:
Emperor's Champion x1
Power Armor w/ Close Combat Weapon and Bolt Pistol x10
Power Armor w/ Bolter x10 (one guy has a boltgun and chainsword)
Power Armor w/ Plasmagun x2
Power Armor w/ Meltagun x1
Power Armor w/ Flamer x2
Power Armor w/ Power Axe x1
Power Armor w/ Power Sword x1
Power Armor w/ Powerfist x2
Power Armor w/ Missile Launcher and chainsword
Power Armor w/ Power Axe and Stormbolter
Power Armor w/ Jump Pack, Close Combat Weapon, and Bolt Pistol x 4
Power Armor w/ Jump Pack, Close Combat Weapon, and Plasma Pistol x 1
Power Armor w/ Jump Pack, Powerfist, and Bolt Pistol x 1
Terminator w/ Power Sword and Storm Shield x1
Terminator w/ Paired Lightning Claws x3
Terminator, Magnitized w/ many options x5 (more lightning claws and stormbolters, thunderhammers and stormshields)
Dreadnought w/ Swappable Weapon Options x1
Venerable Dreadnought w/ Swappable Weapon Options x1
- Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon x2
- Dreadnought LasCannon x2
- Dreadnought Missile Launcher x2
- Dreadnought Assault Canon x2
Land Raider Crusader
Rhino
Razorback w/ Twin-linked Heavy Bolters

I also have 2 10man tactical squads 5man terminator squad (powerfist and stormbolters), landspeeder (heavy bolter) and a dreadnought (assault cannon and powerfist). Any help at all to get this bunch in line would be greatly appreciated. Also as a side note, the seller told me this was his 5th edition army.

Not sure what you are asking for. You want to know what more to buy? What to field and what to shelve?

I can tell you right now that anti-air is where you will hurt. Not your fault, just that your current models have limited anti-air fire and will have a hell of a time dealing with flyers.

Emperor's Champion is decent, but a far cry from what he used to be. He will get ID-ed if he goes toe-to-toe with a Demon Prince, other MCs, etc. I recommend taking a Chapter Master or Captain so you can kit out a tougher warlord (even if you have to proxy with another model).

Hope this helps.

Was looking for help from different fronts. Firstly of the stuff i got whats good to run in 6th and whats not so good. Yea i know AA is a glaring issue i need to address asap. I like Emp. Champion but like you said he was beat with a nerf stick so i was thinking of going the way you suggested with either a Chapter Master or Captain. Buying stuff to add to this army was a given so i am just looking to get help and opinions so i can go on from there.

What has worked consistently for me:

- Drop Pod deliver a Dreadnaught (I choose Ironclad) next to enemy vehicle and Melta it down turn 1.
- Crusader squad lead by Emperor's Champion in dedicated LRC. Move 12" and Flat Out 6". Deploy squad turn 2, and then send the LRC after tanks or flyers. With TL Assault Cannon and Hurricane Bolters, it does ok against the latter.
- Deep strike 5 man terminator squad with CML. They usually do decent. Not sure if a full squad is worth it though.
- Assault squad with Jump Packs. Move (or deep strike) them safely, and they can usually get in and do their damage.

Yea i was thinking of drop podding dreadnoughts, seems like it would be an interesting distraction.

What i am huring for is another HQ choice. From what i been reading about BT and 6th edition is Emperor's Champion isn't an auto take. Should i take a named HQ?
