In the SW codex the saga of the hunter allows the character (and I believe his squad) to outflank. However, the character can't take TDA. Doesn't say anything about the squad though... So does the rule still apply? Because I really don't want Wolf Guard Termis turning up in the middle of my gunline

Can't see why it wouldn't apply, if the rule says he can't take tda then he can't. The rule doesn't say anything about his mates right?. I assume the fluff is that he sneaks ahead and scouts for his buddies who then all follow the surupticiois wolf howls, meet up with the scout and then wreck face.

If you think that is bad for fluff, try justifying how a lord comisar with a camouflage cloak hides an entire 50 man guard blob (cloak gives stealth usr)

I haven't got the SW codex so I can't check. But that certainly has me worried. Thanks (I think)

Why worry? Its not much different from them deep striking infront of you

Other than being more spread out when the pie plates fall, not being in the middle so less is in range, and much more chance to hide behind vehicles or units, yeah just the same. And this guy is known in our circle as the one who always builds spammy lists so that won't be the only threat by a hundred miles (3 dreadnoughts in pods for one). That's why I'm so worried

I'd be more worried about the Rune priests: Initiative test or die! every turn that they are alive.

Deep striking units can still run in order to spread out. If you play on a wide board and keep your units in the middle then outflanking is probably worse than deepstriking.
