Today we playtest an asymmetrical mission (both sides have different objectives) which has been discussed in various threads on the forum follow this linky and have a read, it's good stuff.
http://missioncatalog.com/
and the original article where the idea was set out is here:

On to the game, today we're playing 1850pts and using Dawn of War deployment, Mark is bringing Space Marines with Space Marine allies (Salamanders and Ultramarines respectively) and I'm field Daemons of Chaos with Chaos Space Marine allies and am using the Be'lakor dataslate.

I score 3 points for objectives as normal at the end of the game whereas Mark scores 1 point for each objective he controls at the start of one of his player turns (not including turns 1, 6, 7).
If we draw on primary objective points it goes to secondaries, both Mark and I have escalated Slay the Warlord meaning we score points for each character we kill not just the warlord.

Very interesting. I might have to try suggesting these options to a few of my regulars and giving them a go.

I'd highly recommend it especially if your playgroup is having a problem with certain meta builds especially the various "stars".

The first link above has a couple of other missions up for playtesting, a Killpoint and a Relic one respectively.

Very cool. That actually seemed pretty balanced. I would love to see a test case with full Taudar and an army that doesn't show at tournaments anymore (deathwing?) to see if this actually does balance the extreme mismatches as comp helps to.

@feindus they needed to explain the rules for the game, though I agree they could've simply said "If you are unfamiliar with the rules read the link in the description" and saved about 6mins.

I liked the mission. In normal games the SM player would've gotten 0 points. Sure he only got like 1 or 2 or something, but it's an improvement and the dice seemed to be on the Daemon side(First turn not a single DP hit the ground?)
