Is this possible? It came up last night where a deffrollla tried to tank shock over a barrier. It was a trash slash rubble. Would it go over top of it or have to break it using some sort of building Stat. We knew it would have a Terrain test.

Barriers like barricades and aegis are debris.

You can drive right over them, at the risk of immobilizing yourself, without slowing down.

So yes, you can tank shock across them.

They cannot be destroyed, however, as they aren't buildings.

Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so

Terrain is either difficult or impassible. Agree at the start of the game what each is (or pick a type e.g. ruins, forests area terrain) and follow those rules throughought.

Some common types of terrain are described in the BRB (ruins, forests, defence lines etc). According to them you can do stuff that might seem dubious (e.g. drive a land raider through the wall of a ruin), to avoid complications in game it's a good idea to talk about it before hand.

Generally speaking if something is difficult terrain anything can go through it, if it is impassible then nothing can go through it (vehicles or infrantry, beasts etc - unless flying/hovering). You should feel free to invent your own terrain types though, you could imagine tank traps that are open terrain for troops but dangerous for vehicles (could even require a reroll successful dangerous terrain tests for them).

In your case though it makes sense that a massive steamroller tank wouldn't be too bothered by a bunch of sandbags.

how it would work is that you would declare you intent to tank shock, follow the rules for tank shocking, once you deff roller touches the barrier stop and make a DT test, if you pass, carry on moving to specified distance and resolve normally, if you fail you stop with the roller touching the near side of barrier and are immobilised, the deff roller does not trigger as a result (iirc)

Thanks for the imput. Its was one of barriers from the set that looks like an ork piled a bunch of garbage up in a row.

The nice thing is, the deffrolla gives a re-roll to the DT test

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

Yeah the reroll on the DT is part of the reason it was going to be tried.
