"Heroes of Armageddon! You have withstood the evil savagery of the Orks, and they have left nothing for you to fear. So raise high the black banners of vengeance—now is our time."
— Commissar Yarrick during the Third War for Armageddon

Hey guys, a showcase of a commission that’s nearly done over at Golem painting studios by yours truly. Wanted to show it off, i myself have been tempted to plunge into the deep end and buy some steel legion as a result of painting them here, but with the new year resolutions have instead (the old i will paint what i have before buying more resolution)decided to paint my cadians instead.... then buy some steel legion XD

Lets start as we mean to go on, with lots of lovely pics!

One of the first models done for them the classic and unmistakable Chimera. In the colours of the legion of course.

Particularly proud of the regimental Marking on the turret, came about by happy accident as the skull in diamond was the perfect fit for it. Also got to play around with a few weathering techniques that ive wanted to try.

This is just a small part of what’s to come, so keep and eye out and as always comments and crit. All welcome

And a little parting teaser, enjoy

Thanks for the kind words guys,

Tank or the legion? Legion are below

Ahh of course, or at the very least greased a lot. Perhaps a few brown washes or the tech. Paint typhus corrosion, will bare this in mind in future.

Second update/Showcase a closer look at the first complete squad, a fair amount cool poses. My only thought is id like to see the missile team on a 60mm base, for completion. There something abut the old metal heavy weapon teams on the big round bases that screams “this feels right!”.

Apologies for the creeping blur (obviously a grot managed to work his way into the cogs of the my blesseded pic. Capturer, i doubt it was due to my incompetence in any way)

And a few extra guys,

Stay tuned for more of the armoured might that is the guard.

Thanks guys for the kind words!
Another slightly delayed post, what can i say I’m tired after a days graft... (dosnet help getting addicted to sons of anarchy either)
What’s better than one chimera, well... more then one i guess.
The motor pool,

And some more side and front views so you can get a better look at markings and such

And a glimpse of what’s to come, soon...ish a few days maybe

Very nice! I like the blue-grey you are using on your vehicles better than the GW studio scheme. What techniques are you using around your tracks? The effect looks very nice, not too over-done. The troopers look good too; I especially like the subtle edge-highlights you have on their coats.

Thanks very much man, The tracks if i can remember, i did the separately (so i could be messy as i wanted had them stuck to a tray.) where sprayed metal, then washed with a mix of black and brown washes, to save time having to wash it twice. Then dry brushed silver, and fianaly i added some of the new technical typus corrosion, sort of stubleing it on there. (i was checking it out more then anything, and experimenting). The aim was to have dark greased tracks to contrast against the lighter camo of the model.

Another update, after a while again (i need to have some post-it notes around my computer and desk reminding me to do stuff).
This time with the dapper looking chaps, known as the advisors. And of course the sour faced (behind the gas mask) of a commissar.
Truly fun to paint after the steel legion foot slugger. A splash of colour which was much needed.

So commence the pics. (i promise i will get better at taking pics)

Se you guys soon, and i mean it this time

These look awesome man!

As a fellow owner/painter of an all-metal infantry force (Vostroyans) I salute you!

I can't wait to see more of your stuff once you get it prepped and painted. Great work and keep it up! I especially love the Commissar. That's an old sculpt you made looks very badass for sure!

Take it easy and keep posting pics when you can please

Cheers, Vostroyans are on my to do list, they are really amazing models and I need's them!

Thank guys

Hey guys, last update on the steel legions for a while, (until we get more in – fingers crossed).
First off the army shot, quite a few troopers, Two full squads and 10! Plasma gunners, to be spread around perhaps to become special weapons teams command squads etc.

Commissar/Lord, leading from the front with grim determination.

And a final shot the advisor being escorted by a squads(will be using one of these guys in my own armies as a objective marker – he is an imperial diplomat, what about this would bring out the ultramarines? he is in actual fact spy for an inquisitor with very sensitive information on him)
