Hey people's I was just wondering as to what is the measure of priority target one should have when fighting against screamer star? What type of units should be used to try and bottleneck/tie up the unit/ if you can? and finally as to whether you should start eveyrthing on the board or keep some units in reserve/ deepstrike when playing against them? Thanks in advance

The Screamers are your first target if you get to go first. Otherwise it's Fateweaver (assuming he's come along) and their troops. Once the Grimoire fails target the star.

In mellee it doesn't do increadible ammount of damage but it's rather immortal cause of a 2++ rerollable. So you have an option to tarpit it. Fearless units or better - tough fearless units. Stubborn hordes. I mean you can tarpit a screamerstar for more than half the game with 4 pts conscripts accompanied by a lord comissar. Ofc there will be issues with psychic powers.
Or you can force a misfortune upon them to make them reroll sucksessful 2++ saves. But they got improved deny the witch.
Anywayz, if you ain't got dedicated tarpit units or ability to cast misfortune...or a vindicare assasin...u're forced to avoid the screamerstar and go for his troops and fateweaver. The moment fateweaver is downed - they loose immortality.

Is the huge Herlad unit with Disc of Tzeentch just as dangerous as the actual screamer unit? or more/less?

With the armies you play, you have fast tarpitters that will render target priority irrelevant; either Teleporting Dreadknights or DPs. They're both fearless, so you're good there. Once the star is tarpitted, focus on his troops (in objective based missions) and get your board position in order for the final scoring.

His big bad deathstar doesn't have hit and run, so once you tarpit it with 230ish points of yours (from either of your armies); you've got the vast majority of your army still up and running. He's got the vast majority of his locked up doing diddly squat.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

For the most part they act as one unit, until it comes down to contesting objectives at the end of the game.

The Heralds are the most important part of the unit, as they provide all the buffs (with the grimoire holder being the most important). They are also often given etherblades to deal with 2+ save units.

The screamers mostly act as a meat shield. They also put out an ok number of attacks in cc, and can also threaten armour with their special attack.
