Good day to you all.
There are now quite a few minis of my Favourite Old School
AD&D Demon, the Demogorgon
All of them feature the baboon head quoted in the Monster Manual.
But not one of them catches my interest.
But I have found this image in my Internet image searching:
I love this idea, and would be greatly interested in commissioning a sculpt of it.
I see it as a medium-size mini, standing about 10-15
cm high.
However, doing that on my own would be an expensive venture.
So I thought "let's see if anyone else thinks this would be a great mini, and would participate in a group to help minimise sculpting and casting costs"
Note that I am not going to try and hatchet-job a few 100 dollars worth of minis to try and make it myself out of bits and pieces.
So if you are tempted to reply with a comment along the lines of "Why not make one yourself" thanks, I know my limits, I would end up with an expensive pile of green stuff, resin, and metal looking like my attempt to create a Shogoth.
Also, if you are thinking of posting a link to the Reaper, Grenadier, or the Demons and Devils kickstarter versions, thanks, I know about them already.
Really all I want is to see a "yay" or "nay" as to whether, if one of these was professionally sculpted and offered for sale at a cost of about $100 - $150 USD, would you buy it?

I have received official permission from the owner of the art work:
Hi Richard,
Thanks for your interest. I know the art is incongruous with Starship Dimensions; The fact is, I use merzo.net for many of my little projects so they all get lumped together in that one domain. I'd say it's half laziness and half not wanting to buy additional domains.
Anyways, I'd love to see Demogorgon or any of the other
DnD drawings turned into a miniature. I've always wanted to design custom miniatures, but never knew how to go about the process. Good luck, and send me a pic if it comes to fruition.
Cheers,
Jeff Russell
I have also received the first quote, suggesting the sculpt would be in the vicinity of $1,000.
If I get just 20 people that reduces the sculpt to $50 each, plus another $50 or so for the casting.
That would end up being approximately $100 -$150 for a large miniature you can be assured is extremely rare.
I would also appreciate any advice as to how I could market this more widely.
Thanks!
