I wasn't sure which forum to post this in but it's not really a modelling question I guess. So while I was looking for a way to convert a jetseer without the jetbike, I came across this:

The full work can be found here: http://www.titaniumspork.org/219

This is very well done in my opinion and would suit me since I play Dark Eldar as my main army. The actual farseer would also be magnetized if I would somehow need to have him on foot. I also usually run him alone with the mantle. How would you react to this if I fielded this against you? Would this fall into "modelling for advantage"? I can't really see how but I'm interested in your thoughts.

Perfectly fine.
Both units are distinctly Eldar, and the Venom is basically a large jetbike.
This could work perfectly well as a Farseer on a jetbike.
You should take care to remove all distinctive Dark Eldar parts from the Venom though. No spikes and blades for Craftworld Eldar.

I've been mulling over doing this myself, with a Vyper.

But,

Pros:
The base is the right size for a jetbike.
All parts are GW- or scratch-built.
It's easy to swap out for WYSIWYG changes.

Cons:
This looks too much like a chariot, not a jetbike.
The model is bigger than a jetbike, but not massively.

Is the base the same size as it would be for a normal jet biker seer , because without another model it is hard to judge . Looks bigger .

Isn't a larger model a disadvantage though?

Anybody bitching should be a clear indication that you wouldn't want to play them in the first place.

The Venom has the larger flying base still. so may need to use the smaller jetbike one. It should still balance just fine. But I cant see anyreason why it wouldn't be allowed. I realy like the idea. As said above the larger model is a slight disadvantage.

Its not as if a Farseer on a jetbike can tank for other units.

Well, it uses the big skimmer bases. Not sure if it would balance on smaller jetbike ones and I don't really see the point in using those as well.

Venom does look like a chariot yes but I have a venom I can use whereas I would have to buy the vyper. If I were to spend money on this conversion, I would buy the jetbike squad kit (can't find the single one anywhere). Plus I think this looks really cool anyways.

Yeah I guess larger model is a disadvantage and no one should have any problems with it. As for me, I don't have any problems with it since I mostly use jink anyways. It will be hard to fit him LOS blocking spots though.

This will mostly be used in friendly games anyways. Shouldn't be a problem but I just wanted to see what everyone thinks.
