Hi Night System, firstly welcome to Dakka!

Secondly i have bought and paid for my 40k ticket and I am looking forward to attending, I've also put the event up on a couple other clubs websites for you, I'm sure you won't mind the extra advertising.

I am wondering who would be best at the Sabres to get in touch with about advertising my 40k event in Leicester, which is a 40k tournament at Leicester Phat cats?

Best person to speak to would be me, I am the Head of Wargames for the sabres club if you can get me an advert or link to some information I would be more than happy to spread it around the club

What's your rules on models, painting, proxies, counts as etc?

Here is a copy of the modelling rules for our tournaments.

All Armies shall be fully painted and based.
-Any models found not to meet these minimum requirements shall be removed from all games.- Wargames are at their best when fully painted armies are played on fully modelled battlefields. We are aiming to achieve a high standard in all our tournaments and we are sure you as players will hugely enjoy using high quality terrain with fully painted armies.

There are no structured rules behind what counts as fully painted as historically 3 colour minimums are very easy to manipulate. We have only one rule, COMMON SENSE.
- If you can honestly look at a model and say yes it is fully painted and finished, you will have no problem. If you feel like you will need to argue to allow your models to be accepted, you have found your own answer.
- Any painted/unpainted army disputes will be solved by judges discretion.
-We do not want to breed a culture of fear with this ruling and we certainly do not want to discriminate between ‘good’ painters and ‘bad’ painters. We simply wish to set a good standard so that we all get the most out of the tournament.

‘Counts as’ models are allowed, provided they are of a similar size and shape to the equivalent official model provided by the Wargames Manufacturer.
- This should only be done for artistic and thematic reasons. Whether it is deemed to be modelling for advantage shall be at the judge’s discretion.
- If an opponent thinks you are modelling for advantage, this should be brought to the attention of the Judges. Should they agree, you will be asked to remove the model from your army list, though you will be allowed to replace it with a more appropriate model if you have one available.
- Please use common sense as to what is appropriate.
