Hey I was wondering how good the Skulltaker would be in a Daemons Army. If you give him a juggernaut he has a gak ton of attacks, high str and has a 3+ armour save + the basic 5+ invuln save caused by the fact that he's still a daemon of chaos. If you could manage to put him in a squad of bloodletters of 20 I think he could be devastating by just challenging the sergeant and recking his face so hard, the squad just gaks their pants with his decapitating blow effect on his sword. I also noticed that he has the effect that gives his entire squad (if he joins one) the adamantium will rule, and that he has the eternal warrior rule. The only negative thing is the fact that he only has 2 wounds, although he only costs a 145 points and he looks really damn good for just 145 points on a juggernaut.
Any opinons/Suggestions?
Thanks in advance

The only negative thing about him is that he's pretty bad overall and he's not really even in the top 5 duellists in 40k. AP3 2-3 wounds yes that's the stuff nightmares are made of.

I know that he's not in the top 5 duellists in 40k, but isn't he really good for only having a cost of 145 points? That gives him 6 S, and with furious charge 7Strenght , another wound which brings it's to 3 AND he gets around 5 attacks, isn't that really good for only 145pts?

He is garbage. With ap3 and no rending he bounces off most characters worth killing. With only 2-3 wounds he does to most combat savvy characters even with eternal warrior. And he has that atrocious skull throne rule that forces him to fight challenges that he will lose.

I had him painted ever so nicely during last edition and loved playing him. I really wish his sword had rules similar to Crowe so that he rends on a (4+) I'd ask for it to be AP2 outright, but I feel like I might be asking for too much at that point. Oh well, at least I have a pretty model to look at

I have some different Demon set ups for use as an allied contingent to my CSM army and one of those set ups involves hounds, a mess of Bloodletters and Skulltaker. IMO, while there are more competitive options in the Demon 'dex, if you want to play some Khorne units and don't have a ton of points to spend, he's not a terrible option. I've found that he shines best when used as a "bully" character. I send him in after troop squads and such. As the others have mentioned, he's not much of a duelist, but can be a pretty good steam roller against units that aren't prepared for melee.

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

Wait, what were we talking about again? Did I ever tell you about the time I gave you five bees for a quarter? That's what you'd say in those days, "give me five bees for a quarter", is what you'd say in those days. And you'd go down to the D&D shop, with an onion in your belt, 'cause that was the style of the time. So there I was in the D&D shop..." |

Unfortunatly he is pretty poor, for a challenge character to have AP:3, and pretty poor saves he isn't fit for purpose.
For about the same cost you can have a normal khorne herald on juggernaut, he'll have less Init and WS (who cares, they are still high) and 1 less attack. On the plus sid you gain an AP:2 sword(lesser reward) , a random greater reward (or an additional attack with a reroll if you take the weapon) and either rage or hatred for his entire unit and you don't have the stupid suicide challenge rule.
Overall a much better option than skulltaker, if you have a nice model use it as a normal herald.

He's hardly better at killing stuff than generic Bloodletters and you get a lot more attacks for the same points if you take a squad of them.
