Hey folks! I'm new to 40k and had a quick question on the wording of a rule of an eldar wargear item. The mantle of the Laughing god has a portion that says it reoves the individual character rule. I also see a lot of people put farseer's in their lists on bikes with no other bikes. How does this work? When I go through the wording of the rule I find that the farseer with that item has to be in a unit, not rolling alone. Any help clarifying this would rock! Thanks!

Removing the IC rule doesn't mean it has to be part of a unit suddenly, it just means it can not JOIN any other unit.

There are a lot of units that consist of only 1 model and aren't IC.

Yes the advantage of the mantle of the laughing god is that it gives shrouded (+2) and stealth (+1), and when hes on a bike he gets a 5+ cover save. so, 5+, -2, -1 is 2+. So if hes on abike he gets a 2+ cover save that he gets to reroll! Best part is the combo is only 160 points.

Sadly he gets taken out by Tau rather easily.

I dont have trouble vs tau with him. First off they have to see him. And actually he fits behind a wave serpent if theres no other terrain to block los. And then they have to get 2 markerlight hits onto him. And that usually doesnt happen because there to busy using markerlighs on my waveserpnts, a much bigger threat. Im not saying they cant do it, they actually can very easily, but its just not something that happens to me.

My advice is to give him the shard of anathlan (or whatever its called) as well so he can reduce warp charge 2 powers to 1, if he doesn't use his 4+ invulnerable save in your opponent's following turn.

Most armies I have played dont have, or have very few, ignores cover weapons so in these games you can pottentially be using 6 warp charge poers a turn, with no drawback, as you wont be using the rune armor save anyway if you play smart
