Hey so I have a small (but growing) Khador collection and I was looking at getting a War Dog (because he seems amazing) but I didn't want to use the actual model. Does anyone know companies that make 28mm scale dogs? I was thinking this guy because of his goggles (he is on the right size base);

Would you guys think its an acceptable proxy? I know I'll have to ask the local TO, but I think it should be alright for at least casual play...

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Hasslefree minis are quite epic, both in the quality and variety of their sculpts, and tiger service. They'll ship sweeties and random free stuff to you in your order

But aye, I'd have no issues with the dog! Personally, I'd like to find a tiny wee terrier sculpt (about 4mm tall to scale it right, probably!) and paint it up like my own mutt.

So...they'll be dealing to me for my warmachine addiction as well as my infinity habit now? I'm alright with that. It's a pretty cool dog, I might get both

The steamroller rules go into specifics about what's acceptable in a conversion for events using the steamroller rules (which is most of them), but:
Steamroller 2014 wrote:A converted model must contain a majority of parts from the WARMACHINE or HORDES model for which the rules were written.

However, additionally,
Steamroller 2014 wrote:At his discretion, an EO can make exceptions to these rules to approve any reasonable conversion.

The safe way to go about it would be to have your (very cute) dog and have the original one as well as a backup in case someone objects.

Isn't war machine a 30mm scale? Might be an issue if the puppy's base is 28mm when it is supposed to be 30.

Puppy has a 30mm base, that's what made me think of it as a proxy. I was just looking through random company's models in my spare time and came across it, thought 'cool puppy', then saw it was on a 30mm base and remembered I did want a war dog. And as for the hasslefree one, I have some spare 30mm WM/H bases so that'll be fine

I've seen proxied wardogs before, never heard of anyone having a problem. Generally, as long as a model is very obviously a particular thing, TOs will allow it. No using pEyriss for eEyriss, for instance, even though they're armed the same, but there's only one singe headed dog in Khador, so it's pretty damn obvious what it is at a glance.

If you're taking it to a tournament though, you can always ask the TO first, just to get confirmation. Very few would say no, I'd wager.
