Hey guys was wondering how you guys transport your miniatures for Flames of War? All the foam I have is for 28mm figures and doesn't really fit the flames of war models I have, and infantry take up a surprising amount of space whenever I try to carry my minis in a box.

Is there a good source of foam for them or something? Not really sure how to go about transporting these guys.

I picked up some big bead storage boxes ($6ea) from a hobby store and use the foam from the blisters to pad the minis in them.

Really useful boxes with the plastic trays in them and when I get round to picking some up thin foam over the trays.

If you go to a store like JoAnn's, Michael's or Hobby Lobby you can pick up plastic storage boxes. I think Art Craft is the maker, but don't quote me on it. They are about 2' square and around 2-3" deep. Go over to the material section where they have the rolls of foam padding. This stuff is a little pricey but it will be your best friend. It can be cut to size and custom cut to hold your minis. You can literally throw the case of minis and have no damage. You should see the look on people's face when you do it.

Very nice! I especially like the wargame-style hexes on the bottom. Going to pick up one of these today.

I use the Planno wonder, here is a link to a interesting article http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/545362.page#5938190

I own 12 of the cases,3 large ones and the rest are of various sizes, the cool thing about the large ones is that they have a layer of pluck foam.
Another good thing is the price,i paid 20 bucks for the large ones.I have bought mine from various retailers,Bass Pro and the Hunting section at my local tracator(FArm) supply store
The smaller ones cost between 8 to 15 dollars..

I use the Really Useful Boxes as well. You can magnitise the bottom or just pick up some non slip matting and cut it to the shape of your box.

I have a KR FoW case.

Like all KR cases it's just the job and cheap. Had to modify a tray to take churchills and challengers on account of their length but that was my doing on account of ordering the wrong tank tray. 5mins with a knife and glue gun and it's perfeck.

I got the Battlefoam bag specifically for Flames of War. It cost a lot but it's really nice!
It won't have the space for ALL of my models, but it shouldn't have any trouble hauling anything I need for a game.

Thanks for the suggestions guys I'll take a look and see what works for me.

Hopefully those cheaper solutions work out.

KR Multicase....Cheap as you like.

You might think they are expensive, I've had my oldest one nearly 3 years!

I've now got 6 of these, then I bought the Kaiser...

And for some precious Forge World stuff, I bought this...

Which one would you recommend the most?

I've got a case for all my 28mm stuff so this is purely for FoW and maybe a small amount of X Wing stuff.

I'm kind of torn between the backpack and the Kaiser.

Going to be doing a lot of traveling soon so I need something easy to transport, so sadly the cardstock boxes are out of the question.

I like the Kaiser because I prefer to carry, but several guys who travel away use the backpack. They pack their army in one box and then put some clothes in the other space.

I find the Kaiser has alot of pockets for Books and I usually have my vehicle so I'm literally carrying it from the Car to the Table.

If I was travelling on public transport / Bus / Train I would use the backpack.

Oh and you still need the Cardstock....The Cardstocks go inside the Kaiser. So you always have them one way or another, the Aluminum ones don't need cardboard, and I have occassionally put the Aluminium one inside the kaiser it fits very snuggly.
