Hello Dakka Dakka!

I just wanted to make sure that I was interpreting the rules properly.

In the new tyranid codex it says that you get an extra attack if you have TWO pairs of scything talons. Basically for tyranids you must have two SETS of close combat weapons in order to get the extra attack.

My question is here:

The ravener gets 3 base attacks. It is equipped with two sets of scything talons and a prehensile tail.

From my interpretation, this means that I should get a total of 5 attacks. 3 base, an extra for having 2 close combat weapons, and a third from the prehensile tail.

I guess what I mean to ask is if the unit profile takes into account the extra close combat attack when an un modified unit has 2 close combat weapons? Or do you have to add the extra attack into the profile?

Thanks for your help. I hope this makes sense!!

The profile only takes it into account if it says it does.

There's no rule saying it does.

Raveners don't have a tail attack as standard nor can they take one. The Red Terror does (so he has 6 attacks and 7 on the charge).

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

Ahh yes that is correct flingitnow. I was thinking of both the ravener and the red terror at the same time.

Haha just order a box and was trying to figure out how they work!

I appreciate your diligence!
