i hope this is the right place to post, otherwise please move my post

i found this list on internet (1), or something pretty similar
it's basically a 1750 points heavy mecha BA list:

- reclusiarch on terminator
- 6x power weapon death company
- land raider

- 5 men assault squad
- land raider

- 5 men assault squad
- land raider
(again)

- stormraven
- vindicator
- vindicator (again)

the list got 3x land raider for av14 wall, and 2x vindicator + stormraven to shoot down everything on sight; death company to assault what you need to assault
but i see a problem: only 10 scoring marines
is'nt this too few? i mean: few good shoot from enemies and i will lose at points
or i'm missing something?

however, i saw also a full death company list (with Astorath the Grim) and i'm still arguing if this was a joke or a really playable list...

so... what am i missing? is a full land raider and heavy weapon list valid or it's just something to show your muscle?


(1) i tweaked a little some pretty similar list i found on internet
most of them feature TH and SS Terminator w Terminator Librarian, but are more expensive for a total of 1850 points

Too little units.. LR's are fun, so if you want to take them, I would fill them up w/ ten man assault squads. If you do that, ditch the reclusiarch and take a base librarian... Or Seth.

Land Raiders are too expensive too run that many. I run 1 in my current list and I even debate doing that. It almost never gets its points back which is how I like to personally grade my choices. I don't expect it to perform every game because it becomes a priority target but it is almost always popped by the end of turn 2. Think about this...you could field 2 predators or 2 filled to capacity razorbacks for almost the cost of a single land raider. Being able to be popped by 1 lucky shot has seriously lowered a land raiders value.

so this list is totally crapish...?

i had some doubt, so i made a "light mecha" list:
LR Crusader w/multi-melta; on board:
- Terminator Assault squad (5x) with TH and SS
- Librarian with Terminator armour (shield of sanguinius and blood lance)
- Corbulo

LR with 5-men Assault squad
2x Razorback, each one w/ 5-men assault squad on board
5-man scout squad with sniper and camo cloak

Lascannon Predator
Stormraven

however, i does'nt like rhino/razorback: they seems to me useful only to give "first kill" to the enemy...
but i can use LR to protect them while assault goes forward

this list looks better to me, but still you got only 20 scoring marine, and 5 are scout...

what do you think?

Scouts are good if you go to ground with them behind a ruin every time they are shot at...the razorbacks should have las/Plas. I like curbulo, but only walking up the field, otherwise his points seem kindof wasted.

so did you think corbulo is good to go on long walk since deply to the end?
or rather put it alongside tactical/unit-left-behind-protecting-objectives-or-holding-ground?

because there are a lot of weapon ap3 on the field -_-
however, the shield of sanguinius is not mandatory: i can arrange the 2 powers based upon what my adversary deploy...

ops sorry i understood what you are meaning: yeah they are terms with ss so shield of sanguinius is an error. i put on the battlescribe the first two power that came in mind, most of time i arrange them at last second...
