Subject: How do you get extra parts (special/heavy weapons) without Bitz anymore?

Stupid question but seeing as I haven't played in 12 years, I had no idea until recently that there's no more Bitz available direct from GW; when I last played you were able to buy individual sprues for extra weapons. This brings up the dilemma of how you kit out certain squads, e.g. if they can take 2x special weapons but the box only comes with 1x. Does GW really expect you to buy a second box (knowing them, probably)? Or are you meant to scour ebay in the hopes that someone is selling leftover bitz without paying a king's ransom for them?
This should really be something GW addresses; a box should contain all of the items it can be fielded with, because I don't relish the idea of having to spend $80 to outfit a single squad because I need, say, 2x meltaguns and the box only has a single one.

There are alot of bits sites out there that do special and heavy weapons for fairly reasonable prices. The other option is to trade with local players to see if they have something that you need. Other than that certain kits come with alot of weapons you may need elsewhere in the army (stern comes with one of each special weapon and two of each combi I believe).

ebay is your best friend now, and I'm not talking about individual sellers. There are online eBay stores that specialize in Bitz. I highly recommend a store called Black Dagger Games and Hoard O Bits on the 'bay as a starting point. Great prices, decent selection, fast shipping. You may not be able to find all the bits you may need, but if it's spares from pre existing kits, this is your best bet.

Another alternative is non- GW weapons and stuff, such as the SF add-on parts from Hasslefree Minis.

There are various companies that do spare weapons and stuff apart from Hasslefree.

I get my bits off ebay or in trading with other players.

Most people I know are buying from various bits sites.
Trading doesn't often work when there are so many people wanting the same bits. One example is everyone trying to add grav guns to their marine armies at the same time and they where going for $4-6 each on eBay.
