Hey there Dakka, After a long spree of Dark Eldar, I've been hit with the sudden urge to build some Orky Walkers and Big Mek contraptions. It's a nice little fun project I'll be working on to help get me through Mock Exams and other school related tomfoolery. I'm basing this project around a small nugget of fluff in IA8, Raid on Kastrel Novem, which mentions "Nahpik Oddmek's Tinboy Killas" - a band of outcast Oddboyz that have isolated themselves from the main Clanz to persue their mekky dreams unhindered. Today I began working on one of the Big Meks for my army. I want all my Big Meks (I plan to make quite a few) to have something different about them, like a custom machine of some kind. I wanted this first one to have some kind of walker... Here's the Mek so far: I'm really pleased with the Grot Rigger and his little crane! The extra engine wedged on the side is made of burna tanks, an IG flamer tank, and the nozzle of a chaos melta, with some metal tools slung underneath.

So, my Kan legs came today! I can finally get this mekboy more-or-less finished.
Here's his leg (some of my oh-so-basic plasticardery):
And lo-and-behold, he stands!
Here's a scale shot next to a stormboy:
As you can probably tell, I've started painting him. It's only a layer of Warplock bronze, but it'll eventually end up like this:
(I've just noticed the horrific mold line in that image!)
The rust effect is pretty neat in my opinion, and in that example I'd missed a step (a devlan mud wash), so it's not the most perfect example.
Thanks for looking!

PROGRESS! (Kinda)
I have some new Members of the warband (now dubbed Kogteef's Scrapmungas).
A lone Killa Kan arrived in the post (thanks to user foliage!)...
...as did a Big Mek! (Thanks to eBay) He's currently in mid-paintjob, and I added the spotlight to his bosspole.
There's also a trio of Deffkoptas, some Puppetswar heads and a Warboss on the way, who will eventually become Kogteef da Unur-'anded, Warboss of the Scrapmungas.
Also, small progress on the One-legged Mek...thing!
Someone help me name this thing!

We have some new arrivals!
I got these Deffkoptas for £10 (and free postage!) off eBay, which defines the word bargain. The flying bases are sprayed black, but that doesn't really bother me.
And this AOBR warboss for a steal as well, I planned to make him into Kogteef, but I'm thinking of just painting him up as a regular PK/ TL shoota warboss.
Now, this is something a little bit awesome. Zinge Industries make this little gem, known as the "Saturation Fire BFG", and I just had to order one! It'll be going on Kogteef, da proppa 'boss, when I figure out how exactly I want to make him.
The plan with Kogteef is to load him out like a True Deathskull, or at least in my view; Lots of scrap and 'borrowed' items, and some kick-ass mek elements (such as the BFG above ). I think I might use one of the other Warboss models, as I prefer the pose. I'll use lots of plasticard to armour him up (really only aiming for 'eavy armour), and as many spare bits as possible to arm him up!

Okay, so I was blown away by these: Maxmini Ork Tech-freak heads. As you'll see, the sculpts are awesome, my only gripe being that they're HUGE, like warboss size I had to chop up some necks to get them to fit, but they look really awesome IMO! These Nobz are the first half of Kogteef's Honour Guard, consisting of Two Big Choppaz, A power Klaw and a Kombi-flamer. The other half will have the inverse - Two PK's, a big choppa (making 3 of each) and a kombi-rokkit launcha, all tied together with a pain boy and a WAAAGH! Banner
Here they are:
What do you guys think of the heads? I love 'em.
Here's my Counts-as Painboy, would you guys accept this in a game?
I tried to replicate the Doc's Tools and 'Urty syringe, I think it's pretty good, the rest of the world might not however.
Ooh, and here's a peek at Kogteef's head, the biggest and coolest:
I plan to make Kogteef from Snikrot, who is on his way, so we'll see how that goes...
Thanks guys! I promise I'll get some painted stuff up...eventually

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, and everyone else in between, I present to you...
KOGTEEF! So called because...well, take a guess. He goes by many titles; Da' Undur'anded and Dirty Deela being his favourite, but there are countless others whispered among his vast array of adversaries. A freeboota by trade and Deffskull by heart, Kogteef roams the galaxy with his band of Skrapmungas Buying (or stealing, to be more precise) and selling to any and all that he can. This often - if not always - includes ripping off hapless victims, from other warbosses to rogue traders and countless other individuals. He has many friends, and a triplicate amount of enemies, but no-one in the galaxy trusts him, and quite rightly so. He's an old, gnarled and wily git gifted with a mind for business, an affinity with technology, and a talent for outwitting anyone he comes across. He and his band currently act as mercenaries.
The model itself is based off of Boss Snikrot, with a Maxmini head, a Zinge Industries weapon and backpack, and some bits from my bitzbox.
Here are some more pictures:
(There will be an ammo belt linking the minigun to his backpack, I just ballsed up the first one a replacement is coming)
Here's a size comparison next to one of his Nobz:
What do you think of the conversion? Josh do good?
C&C welcome, please share your thoughts!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Thanks man! I was really pleased with him, he's a little small, but he has a minigun, so I think it evens out
