Ok I will start off buy saying I wrote this once for fun and I haven't ever put it to the test, but on paper it should do very well.

Starting off with the HQ choice, I have Typhus. (230)

Troops are simply 6 sets of 35 zombies. (150*6=900)

Elites are 5 terminators armed with a reaper autocannon and as they are holding Typhus's hand they have the mark of nurgle too. He does have a very gross hand after all. (175)

Of course he has the aerial back up of 2 heldrakes and their baleflamers.

And for heavy support is my defiler with havoc launcher and reaper auto cannon topped with warp gargoyles.

So the question is given most games are objective based, how badly is this team going to get spanked back into the warp or will it actually hold its ground?

2000+ points, but I think I know how to use them

I've got to be honest, it's nothing new mate. Zombies will always hold out for a good few turns unless there is loads of template blast weapon put on them. If you want yo run it then put 4 units of zombies in reserve and hope they don't come on until later. Then run them onto an objective each whilst your held rakes have caused havoc and if you really can justify having terms in a smaller list then they will absorb a lot of gunfire. Don't really get the distiller and would take a vindicator instead personally if I was running this kind of thing. My typhus list only has 1 unit of 20 zombies and no terms (1500pts) but does have a warp smith with black mace and some plague marines and oblits.

Zombies are a good backfield unit, that's about it.

Ive been running 2 big blobs lately, but i'm considering cutting one in half since 30 zombies coming in from reserve tends to get cluttered.

I would only count on them holding one backfield objective that is isolated, and even then you need a team of 2 zombie mobs in case one gets engaged and contested.

CSM are naturally slow moving anyway, so I also like using the Zombies as a second wave after my Plague Marines get stuck in.

Me myself, I am stuck on whether to take big mobs (hard to kill, but hard to move) or smaller mobs (easier to move but easier to kill)

McManiak, I guessed it wouldn't be new hence coming to ask about it rather than spend the money on 210 zombies then find it sucks.

Nightlord I have been looking at running typhus and zombies just for objectives, is he worth it in small games or should I not waste the cash buying him and use other things?

I feel that the expense of Plague Marines are well complimented by the cheapness of the Zombies.

Regular Cultists cant compare and you NEED to take cultists.
The Typhus tax gives you the two best troop choices in the codex.

I would use regular armed cultists, but i don't feel like wasting another hq slot to babysit them in the backfield.
