Hello, I have another question and would appreciate any help you could provide.

so my friend fired a rupture cannon at my sentinel and succeeded in a roll to hit. Since his strength 10 weapon is against an armor 10 sentinel does that mean that no matter what it can penetrate it's hull and never get a glancing and/miss?

Yep, S10 will always pen AV10, as 10+any D6 result will be 11 or more.

Note that this isn't automatic penetration, you're still required to roll the dice. Any result will penetrate ofc, and you might as well skip the roll. Sadly skipping rolls is one of the small things that cause surprisingly many disagreements - people are tempted to "skip" if they roll a six and "do the AV roll" if they roll a one. Or people are accused of it no matter if they announced it or not.

It's one of those little things in game people should always agree on how to do beforehand. Either always skip a useless roll or never skip it. Keeps things smooth.
