So my buddie and I have been out of 40k for about 10 years and we got ride of most our models so we are starting new armies. Myself I went with farsight  enclaves. And my buddie went fw mechanicum. My only problem is that points wise the mmechanicum is far under pointed.   Mainly Thallax Cohort  and castellax class battle automata. Just with the battle automata is only 85 pts... Where as it's closest matching units from other armies such as the ctan shard or many tyranids are more then twice that without any upgrades. Has anyone found the points to be a but off or have any solutions to better even them against other 40k era armies?

^ That. Tau is one of the strongest armies in the entire game. You should be fine.

Does not change the fact 30K is ANOTHER game, where the balance is totally different.

30K armies and 40K armies do not mix well. some match up go horribly in favor of 40k, others horribly in favor of 30k.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.
