+ I really like Tau and GKs. The problem with your list is that you can only take 1 elite slot in an allied detachment. Otherwise I would love to run my tides with NDKs
+ Where is Draigo going? He works best in a pally bomb.
+ I wouldn't give the hammer to your Justicar due to challanges.
+ Run either a buffmander or a Mark'O. (I heart buffmanders). If you want to run your Tau cheap then Fireblade with your FW.
+ VT doesn't synergies well with IA tides.
Hope this helps

Well that sets up a little rethinking ! - the plan was to deepstrike dreigo and hes 2 solodins late game to run in and grab objectives or just wreak alittle havok.

the hammer for the strike squad can easely be re-aranged but i often find the strike squad to be gunned down pritty easely ! D:

the reason i picked IA was because i could realy need those Ap 2 shots aswell as the high strength having a real hard time dealing with heldrakes and other flyers in my lokal area,

and i needed the skyfire /interceptor because i dont realy like the idea of running an ADL with grey knights, i feel its just too out of place and way to common,

as for the buffmender or mark'o, what does that mean, ? new to the whole tau part so not quite sure what the terms meen! :S

also sorry for the bad spelling, english is not my mother language at all :p also thanks for the response! and anything i could bring instead of the extra riptide?

Search the forum for the details on each.

But basically the buffmander is a support commander that attaches to a tide or broadsides give them nice little buffs. Ignore cover, gives twin linked and etc.

Mark'O adds to a squad of marker drones with a drone controller, giving the drones bs5 they are more resilient then the pathfinders with their JSJ.

Ive done some research and i noticed something in the farsight enclave supplement for tau, is it posible to use the supplement? If so , if i understood right i could bring farsight with the " happy farsight friends" and use the riptide bodyguard, aswell as a 6 man fire warrior squad and an elite slot riptide,

Like here is a list to bring out an example! :

Primary,

Hq

Inquisitor 80p
-conversion beamer
-power armor

Kaldor dreigo 275p

Troops:

Solodin 55p
-hammer

Solodin 55p
-hammer

Solodin 55p
-halbard

Solodin 55p
-halbard

Heavy support:

Dreadknight 260
-greatsword
-heavy incinerator
-personal teleporter

Dreadknight 260
-greatsword
-heavy incinerator
-personal teleporter

Allied detachment: Farsight enclave

Hq:

Farsight's command group (aka happy farsight and friends)
- commander farsight
- "sidekick" o'vesa ( the riptide buddy of his)
470p

Elite:

Riptide 210p
-ion accelerator
-tl smart missile system
-early warning override
-velocity tracker

Troops:

Fire warrior team 70p
- 7 guys

So it should come to 1845p if this list even is legal!

Just realy think it could be very very cool to be able to field 2 riptides in an allied detach

So is this list legal? Is it viable ? ( my local meta is filled to the brim with flyers) comments appriciated

Draigo makes dreadknights scoring, draigo paladins deepstrike turn 5 to objectives while the inquisitor is an amasing scarefactor, so could work?

Just a thought:

Vanilla (ultramarines, imperial fists, etc.) space marines are similar enough to grey knights, and in the case of allies they are battle brothers with tau, so it might be advantageous to switch from grey knights to regular space marines. Being able to cast prescience on a shooty army is awesome, and if the tau lack anything it's the psyker presence. Eldar and tau work so well together because the eldar can cast psychic powers on their tau allies, bringing great synergy to the overall build. Ultramarines can accomplish this just as well (from a support standpoint), and at the same time bring some heavy infantry options to the table that otherwise would not be available.

The only thing left out is the case of the nemesis dreadknight, which is, agreed, a super-unit; borderline broken. Maybe swap em out for something else that is very resilient and killy. Maybe a landraider or flyers or just buff up your tau list some more.

Yeah the dreadknights a must+ they become scoring witch is awsome! I know people think its broken but when my local meta contains screamer star, bal akor, heldrike typhus obliterator spam and so much more i domt realy care for it beeing broken aslong i can manage to give these people a real "in your face " game

To make this list legal you have to add in the compulsory 3 man crisis suits. Give them twin linked pods and let them sit in your back field, shoot and take your objective.

I made a similar list but used coteaz for the points to make it work for me.

So the points should be 1849!

Realy low model count tho, but everything on the board exept the inquisitor, farsight and the chrisi team have 2+/5++ saves soo it should hold its ground with some line of sight blocking and what not, draigo and solodins start of in reserve, the dreadknights shunt forward getting in to cc as fast as posible( is scoring because of grand strategy) the tau units stay behind with the inquisitor and shooting everything down, draigo deepstrike close enough to get into combat as soon as posible
While paladins try to grap field objectives/denying them! So i think it can work it needs some playtesting but looks good on paper!

I like the list. The only changes I would make would be to change the IA tide to a HBC to have better AA.
The lack of ML support for the tides is something you should look at. Tetras would be of been great for this list. Tides and all tau need MLs.

How do you win at objective with only 3 solodins and 1 crisis team?

Most likely Grand Strategy on the DKs or other units

I think the list above is illegal. To take any part of the farsight command team farsight must be your warlord and he can't do that in an allied detachment. So if you want o'vesa you have to have farsight enclaves as primary.

Forest hunter sept ~3500
guardians of the covenant 4th company ~ 6000
