Hi All

I have been playing around with this list for a while, and I quite like it. It is unconventional, and so probably uncompetitive, but I would like some opinions on it anyway.

What I am trying to do is use mainly models I like to make as competitive a list as I can, and trying to stay away from those I don't.

Basically I like everything except for coven stuff and raider hulled vehicles. Don't ask why, I'm just not a fan. What this does do is free up my heavy support from the usual 3x ravager build for other stuff. The way my list ended up, it seems fast and fun.

The true born are very unconventional, but I think they should work. I would split them up on different levels on ruins, and with maximum spacing, a large blast can still only hit two at most. Without ravagers, it's pretty hard to get more dark lances as well, and this is cheapish and uses slots I wouldn't otherwise use. I don't intend to keep them in their venoms either.

A final thing before the list, I would be happy if somebody could find a better use of 72 points than 5 kymerae and a beast master as it means I have to buy another hellion box just to make the baron and kymerae are expensive as is. I wanted to put some reavers in, but couldn't make them work. If someone has a way, I'm all ears

Thanks. Below is the list.

Baron sathonyx - 105

Eldar farseer on jet bike - 115

Trueborn (2x dark lances) - 86

Well beast master to charge ratio is 1:1

So a unit of 5 beast masters could have 2 razorwing flocks and 3 kymerae. So applying that over three units give you 15 beast masters, 6 razorwing flocks and 9 kymerae, not 10 so you have 12 more points too use.

Other then that it looks like a very interesting list, thou you may want to make one of the Trueborn all blasters so you have an AT that can move and shoot at full effect, this is only ten more points then they would be now, but are able to shoot four AT weapons on the move vs. the two more stationary shots.

Hmmm.

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you are on about with the beast masters, Saint. Double check your codex.

The idea of blasters is nice, and I'll look into it. I'm not sure if I need more anti tank though....

Also, I intend to deep strike a few of the hellion squads in most situations. I often play were people place an objective ages from anything and then camp it with scouts or something. According to my math 2 squads shouldn't have a problem killing them. I would always have one squad on a home objective though. I guess I could swap one or two to warriors with another venom though? I do like the hellions better aesthetically though.

My largest concern with the list is that hellions are in units of 5. I don't know if they'll be resilient enough to last even when deep striking. I know they are for objective grabs and not much else, but even then, 5 can be eliminated rather quickly.

I am wondering about this list, it looks like quite a fun and different kind of it. A few things I'd suggest is to swap nightfields for flickerfields, because any time spent jinking is time not shooting your few precious Dark Lances, a 5+ invul replaces the need to jink. The only other thing I could suggest is to swap out one Hellion unit (bikes are better anyhow), one Venom and a single Khymerae exchange for 3 Eldar Jetbikes (Proxy as reavers as you like the models) and a Farseer on jetbike for the beast pack, they benefit so much from her. Guaranteed Prescience is massive for your razorwings, an increased deny save is crucial vs powers such as hallucinate as are any powers such as fortune, invisibility or doom.

The hellions are quite squishy, but I hope they won't be priority targets anyway. I'll be aiming to keep them out of harms way.

I really like both of your ideas Alex. I will swap the night shields for flicker fields, and I get to use those reavers

Instead of trading a hellions squad, a venom and one kymera for the though, would dropping one hellion squad, a beastmaster, 5 kymerae and 5 points from something be better? It helps with modelling, but as far as competitiveness goes. I'm not sure. How important are those kymerae?
