I had some fun with a mini draigo wing in a competition on Saturday. My only problem was getting tabled in two turns against 7 wave serpents and 2 fire prisms. Is there anything in the Grey Knight codex to fight this or do I need to go the route of tau allies?

Its a question of who goes first, what's in your army list, and how best to use your resources if you go first or second.

I play a Ghostwing, which relies on a Mordrak Bomb to cripple an important enemy unit upon arrival. My thoughts at deployment are: which enemy unit's early removal best serves my list's survival. That unit is Mordrak's target. For the rest, I play an aggressive game of forcing my opponent to react to my unit movements. Versus Wave Serpents, I'm hunting Psykers and rear AV, while tying up big stuff if I can.

If I were playing your list, I'd need to know what your list contained.

I had a ten man strike squad with 2 psicannons hiding behind and adl with quadgun. I also had two psirifledreads and a crusader landraider. Draigo was in that with 7 termies with a psicannon and brotherhood banner. I also had Illuminor Szera and ten immortals in a night scythe but I failed my reserve roll and got demolished after that. The thing was I did quite well in the previous killpoints game against the old tyranid codex. If I remember rightly I went first but most of his stuff was outside of 24 inches. That many waveserpents put out a frightening amount of shots.

Dreadknights with teleporters can do well against them.

I have found my best answer is stormravens or dakka dreads.

The stormraven is durable to the WS firepower (due to being a flyer it takes 0.7 HP per turn per serpent without jink and assuming SL hits). The MM also tends to keep the serpent honest and with their shields up. It also has AV12 rear so no butt shooting spiders. Finally if the CWE player exposes a laughing seer or jetseer council you can make them pay with your psi missiles.

The dakka dreads do good damage to the serpents as they glance them to death anyways. The aegis can also be highly useful against doom, etc. so your paladin star can stay alive.

I highly recommend you check out Jy2 who has some great draigowing batreps to check out.
