Hey guys, I have been running all cavalry lists for Empire. I have been successful with them however, I want to try my hand at an all infantry based list. Here is the first draft:

Arch Lector ~ Heavy armor, extra hand weapon, dragon helm,seed of rebirth, war altar
Battle Wizard Lord ~ Level 4, dispel scroll, light
Captain BSB ~ Griffon banner, FPA, shield

Halberds (x40) ~ Banner, musician (horde)
Swordsmen (x40) ~ banner, musician (5x8 and griffon banner)
-Archer detach (x5)
-Archer detach (x5)
Greatswords (x40) ~ banner, musician, standard of discipline (horde)
Reiksguard (x5)
Reiksguard (x5)

For deployment I plan on planting the waltar in the middle flanked with halberd and greatswords. On the right most flank the swordsmen and on the left most the stank. Reiksguard for chaff killing and flank charges, steam tank planted for sniping something. The BSB would be able to hit the swords and the halbs while the GS are stubborn ld9

The extra +3 combat res from the griffon banner isn't worth running a BSB with a 3+ armor save and no ward.
You don't get the combat res when you are dead, and at T4 W2, that won't last long.
The other option for the Griffon banner is to run it in a unit with full command and 2 other characters.
This would put the BSB in the 2nd rank initially, and you'd go into the fight with +8 combat resolution (banner, BSB, 3 ranks, +3 from the griffon banner)

I have done that in the past but in this case I wanted something that can reliably hold a flank and win combat even without buffs

Get vulkimar the grim up there on that war alter for some awesome buffs and the +1 to cast battle prayers, for points drop the griffon standard and

War altar: not good. Drop it and get an Engineer for cannon, and add some archers/handgunners.

I don't mind changing my list but whhaaaaaaaat? The Waltar costs enough without Volkmar and will always do more than more handgunners/archers. I have however changed the list and dropped the griffon banner. I also made it so I can push the BSB to the 2nd rank of the swordsment to protect him.

Just saying vulkimar is a stud on the war alter you can probably upgrade him from archlector for little if any point difference and also maybe consider dropping knights for a master engineer for the cannon.

He also is easier to kill than the lector and isn't good enough to justify any extra lords points put in. The engineer would be a waste since I'm not using the bs4...If the cannon misfires I can live without it

Strength 6, 4+ regen and +1 to prayers.

Though either way a cannon will kill it.

Yeah that Is the problem with taking him

A small variation on the empire net-list. What are you looking for by means of advice?

All the net lists I have looked at are cav lists and I've never run this high of a model count before

Just saying running big blocks of infantry are cool, but you can always run a whole cav list of like2 units of 40+ knights with warrior prists, witch hunters, wizards, ect.

My usual list IS 40 knights, waltar, stank, pistoliers, captasuses, etc. I'm looking to get away from that
